Prop 8 Play To Be Broadcast On YouTube

"8" a play written by Dustin Lance Black and directed by Rob Reiner

Proposition 8 proponents have successfully fought to keep any broadcast of the Proposition 8 trial away from public view. What they have said to succesfully pass Prop 8 in the first place, did not hold up in a court of law, where you have to present ACTUAL FACTS. Several of the proponents even declined to testify in the trial, using as an excuse the possible persecution by those of us who are pushing that "radical homosexual agenda." Because, yeah, that's an actual fact, too. ;-P Slippery slopes and imaginary conspiracy theories and religious beliefs informing civil law, these fly like pigs in court.

However, transcripts of the trial are available. Dustin Lance Black wrote a screenplay based on the transcripts and the personal stories of couples who brought on the lawsuit.

Tonight there will be a one-time presentation of the play, featuring an all-star cast, which will be broadcast live on YouTube tonight at 10:30 eastern, 7:30 pacific.

You can bet I'll be watching.
