Annie, Sort Of
The Show tonight was not without a few hitches. In the Hooverville scene, I was waiting for the line, "Dinner is served." It didn't come, so I tried to prompt her by asking, "Is the soup ready yet?" It didn't work. We just sort of lined up for the soup anyway, and she didn't figure out what was missing until after we got off. ;)
Later, poor Annie came out in her signature red dress - with the back wide open. Apparently the zipper broke. There was an open (!) safety pin stuck in the back. Mrs Pugh went up behind her and pinned it, but of course, it was still mostly open. She went through the dance number like that. There was a gasp from the audience the first time she spun around and they saw the back, but she gamely continued undeterred.
We did have pretty, fake snowfall for the first time in the show. I was wondering why there was sewer line-sized PVC pipe near the ceiling backstage. It was part of the rigging for the snow machine.
I think we're feeling the effects of a full moon a couple of days early. ;)
