Last night I went to bed early around midnight. I don't have to work until 1pm today so I was planning on a lovely morning of sleeping in. However, I awoke around 6 this morning, my head full of ideas and my body full of energy. I tried to go back to sleep but it was no use. So I did homework for about an hour. Again I tried to go back to sleep. It was still impossible. Am I actually caught up on sleep? Am I actually so old that 6 hours is all I need?
I didn't know what to do with myself so I went for a walk. It is damn cold outside but it was beautiful. I love grey and misty skies. It felt peaceful to be out and about when few people are. I went over to my local park and discovered it has some workout circuit training thing such as parallel bars, monkey bars etc. So I played around on those and on the playground. I walked, I ran, and in general jumped around like a person who wants to exercise but doesn't quite know what to do.
On my way back I discovered that there is a creepy overgrown dry creek bed that runs through my neighborhood. I really want to go exploring but I feel apprehensive as it essentially runs between people's back yards. Also it looks like an popular place to dump trash and possibly dead bodies. I think I might check it out later today when people are less likely to be home and disturbed by barking dogs and some girl skulking around behind their house.
Ever since I saw Stand by Me when I was a kid, I have believed I will someday stumble across a dead body or something and be that person who accidentally solves a missing person case. I know I read way too many Nancy Drew books, but when I was a kid, one of my favorite things to do was explore ditches and creek beds. Can you tell I'm white trash now? Anyway, I used to live by this giant drainage ditch that had to be 7 or 8 feet deep. My friend and I would always go play there and look for what the flash flooding had left behind. Once we got so freaked out because we thought we found someone's head. It turned out to be a wig. Another friend of mine lived by a dry creek bed that apparently had been near a house fire. The place was full of cool old melted bottles and metal. Anyway I'm done reminiscing now. Thanks for stopping by.
