i've seen a lot of coverage recently of
Writely, google's word processing software, which is being held up as another example of how google's gonna run the world and we're all gonna like it.
but have any of you guys noticed
SketchUp? it lets you do 3D modelling and when you're done, you can put your model on a google map. that way you know it's really real (virtual). among other things, the program has "An interactive
Heliodon, or sun angle simulator," according to its
wikipedia entry.
on the same topic, google reader is a good hook, but the program itself really sucks. it could be a lot easier to use. i'm thinking of trying out
newsgator,
bloglines, or
myyahoo! to see if any of them are better at the feed reader game. do any of you have any experience with any of those? (Actually, on second glance, i don't think it'll be yahoo. i hate having those comprehensive one-stop pages which are basically the "new" AOL portal. tooooo much stuff.)
