Girl Scouts = The stupidest group ever

Jun 15, 2006 18:56

I recieved my letter back from the Girl Scout council about my Gold Award Project. It was for the removal of the band trophies. If you havn't notied the bare walls in the room. This is what they said:

Thank you for your recent submission of you Initial Project Plan for the Gold Award. The Gold Award Panel met on 6/8/2006 and took the follow action on your plan. Please share this letter with your advisor.
Denied as submitted. We regret that the Panel is unable to approve this project at the current time. The Panel had the following concerns with your project.

The Panel is really concerned that this project leans too much toward doing community service than designing your own project.  Check out page 10 of the 2005 edition of Going for the Gold.  This talks a little bit about some projects that are service projects and how they could be formulated into Gold Award projects.  If you need some help working on some ideas. feel free to contact a member of the Gold Award Panel.  Their names and phone numbers are listed in every edition of TTG.

It keeps going.  But that's the important stuff.  I'm sorry that I'm doing too much community service, I guess that's a bad thing.

What frustrates me, is that they would have approved this had it been for something else.  They don't get band, and that I really did design this project and worked hard on it.

I don't care what they think.  I've done it and I'm very proud of what I've done.  This band has done more for me to become a leader and all that other stuff that the Girl Scouts says that they teach than Girl Scouts ever will.  It was a privledge and an honor to help the band with this and I will never regret it for the world.  All I regret is that the Girl Scouts can't see that.

I do believe that I shall be sending them an e-mail, inviting them to come and see a marching show.  They can sit with Mr. Holder's crazy friend who thinks that all school bands are bad and every 5th grader should start with playing some song like New World or Poet and Peasant.
