DAKOTA!

so, i'm waaaaaaay overdue for an update (as usual), but SO much has been happening these past few weeks that i just haven't had time to do so. so, i'll just start with whatever comes to my mind first, so bear with the whole randomness...

as most of you prolly know, adam and i adopted our love child, Dakota, this past sunday. he's SO cute and good-tempered! he's a german shepherd mix (maybe retriever of some sort?), comes up to about my knees, weighs 47 pounds righ tnow (he's kinda skinny--but we are working on that!), and is literally the color of a fawn-he even has the white flecks on his butt too! his ears are kinda floppy, so they are cute. he's housebroken, and is good on a leash. we taught him "shake" in less than an hour, and "down" in about an hour as well. we still need to work on the whole "sit/stay," but he's getting better at it. that is, if he doesn't give himself a concusion from swinging his tire and rope toy against his head too hard! overall, he's just a SWEETHEART and we love him to death! :) he follows us around WHEREVER we go; i don't know if this has anything to do with him being in the shelter for too long or what, but it doesn't matter cause we love him :)

i'm gonna be living down in dayton for the summer with my friend Kerry. it'll be nice since her house has AC, and i can work in the HST Dept still as well as Longhorn. money should be rolling in, which is good since i still have a LOT of debt to pay off...

me and Mandy are going to be living together next year at MU (YAAAAY!!!) we've been looking for places that allow pets and that are close to campus, and she found some stellar townhouses at Brookside Terrace, so we are going to live there next year. the bedrooms are HUGE, it has a walk through kitchen (WITH A DISHWASHER!), and a washer/dryer hookup so we can do our laundry at our place! SOOOOOOOO excited!

adam and i celebrated our 9 year anniversary this past friday. we went to Smokey Bones for dinner (yay for peach tea and corn bread!), and then went to Columbus on sat. morning to go look at dogs. we adopted Dakota but didn't take him then because....WE WERE GOING TO THE FAITH HILL AND TIM MCGRAW CONCERT!!! it ROCKED! our seats were AMAZING and the vocals BLEW ME AWAY! Faith really has a good set of pipes! they played all the new stuff as well as all their favorites. one FUNNY thing though was when they sang "It's Your Love." first you have to imagine the stage--it was in the middle of Nationwide Arena (so it was a 360 degree stage). The center was a cirlce, and then it had four spokes (think a pinwheel) coming out from every quarter of it. the whole stage floor was like a giant LCD screen--anything could be projected from it--think a big huge TV screen. well, during "It's Your Love," the tips of each of the four spokes showed koalas, amoebias, giraffes, pandas, insects, YOU NAME IT----HUMPING!!! and then to top it off, imagine GIANT sperm "swimming" up the length of each spoke to (you guessed it) the egg in the center of the stage! the people all around us were CRACKING up! it kinda took away the effect of the great vocals...too funny!

i think that's about it. basically i live at adam's so Dakota will associate me as owner and not a guest, i still work in the HST dept and Longhorn. such is my life! :)
