Today-- I went around sightseeing attractions in the middle of our prefecture all day to see if foreign tourists would be able to make it around okay. It was fun and motivating! I love being out of the office.

My dinner:

Cabbage/potato/shrimp/pea gratin -- very easy and a good way to use up cabbage.

The "Japanese people are weeeeeeird" corner:
On the news yesterday morning they were talking about how the Ministry of Tourism (or whatever it's called) is desperate to attract more tourists to Japan and encourage people to travel domestically. As a means, they were talking about actually increasing the number of public holidays or moving the ones they already have so there are more long weekends. They were also talking about how they could stagger these holidays depending on what region you live in so that it's not a huge nation-wide rush like Golden Week.

The way Japanese people think still blows my mind. This would NEVER happen in the US. And Japan already has like a billion national holidays! Is it just because they're more desperate? Or is it because they are always working themselves to the bone?

Johnny's-induced anger!!
I don't know why I joined the fucking Johnny's fan club. I have balloted for 3 concerts and 4-5 other events and I get rejected every single time without fail. What the hell am I paying for??? Just the opportunity to be rejected? If I have to buy the secondhand tickets anyway, I really don't see the point.

And for that matter, I think that a lot of other people must have joined solely to gouge other fans. Dude, the results for Jin's concert balloting came out at like 6pm tonight. I went online at 7:30pm to find people already selling their tickets for 5+(!!!) times the original price. ARE YOU KIDDING ME???

I forsee myself being immensely upset tomorrow about this. Unfortunately there is nothing I can do, because the ATMs are closed and I need to put money on my credit card before I can use it (another peculiarity of Japan).

I don't know if I would be willing to pay more than 20,000 yen to see Jin though. Augh, I want to, of course I want to, but that's already over $200 for an incredibly transient luxury.

Goal for this weekend:
Learn to make chai lattes!
