The Japanese election is this Sunday. The news (in English, anyway) says that the DPJ is going to win, but here all I see are LDP posters... I'll be happy when the fliers stop and the political cars with loudspeakers are over with.
I've been reading the platforms but honestly the two parties don't seem that different to me. I don't think a one-party system is healthy, though, so I do think it will be good to see a shift in power.
I was talking with someone in my English class, who was telling me that he was hopeful that a DPJ win could really change things.
This is very nice compared to my Japanese politics and law teacher, who actually told us that she wished that Japan would just have a benevolent dictator so that life would be easier. She was not interested in politics at all.
In other news, I wasn't bored to death today and I finished reading He's Just Not That Into You at work. E-books are clearly the answer to my afternoon boredom! I am going to find another one for tomorrow.
The structure got really repetitive, but I think the HJNTIY mindset is a very positive one. I would adopt it, if I ever had a use for such knowledge. Alas.............
