"During the long break, we went touring for the first time together~" say Kamenashi & Koki (+ Taguchi). With stories about this hilarious incident-filled journey, the two get roused up over their memories ♪
I want to enthusiastically discuss Taguchi's youngest child syndrome!
Kamenashi: During this last three day break, I spent all three days with Taguchi...
Tanaka: I haven't had a three day break in a really long time, but I spent two of those days out with Kame and Taguchi. Furthermore, on this plan, we'd been saying "Let's go!" since around summertime, and we finally got around to actually doing it.
K: Yeahhh, for three of us to go on a trip together, we've really become adults. But, in many ways I was really shocked at Taguchi. He's such a youngest child!
T: That's right. On the way there, after he continually said, "I'm hungry~" like 15 times, the second we were done eating he's "Sleepy~".
K: Even when the three of us were in the hot spring, he was the only one saying, "I think I'm done~. I'm going to get out." ...he's so free!
T: It's because he's the youngest child~.
K: When we were buying supplies for barbecue, he would be like, "Oh! Kiritanpo [mochi-like food]!" and pop things in the basket on his own. He's so much like a pampered child that after a while I just decided to humor him.
T: Right, and even though Kame had hid a birthday cake in his refrigerator for us because Taguchi and I were born in the same month, Taguchi opened the refrigerator as soon as he got there and said, "Hey, there's a cake in here!" So much for the surprise...
K: I had the sheet music for "Happy Birthday," and I was all set to play it on the guitar, but then I lost my will completely (laugh). I bet if we were working I'd be irritated, but mysteriously in private I can just overlook it (laugh).
T: Probably our rural journey made you more generous (laugh).
K: What was funny was when the three of us went shopping. The woman at the store said, "Kamenashi-kun, Koki-kun, and... Tamaru-kun are here!" (laugh)
T: Taguchi and Nakamaru were fused, weren't they (laugh). But Taguchi stayed strong. Without any sign of weakness, he shook her hand, saying, "Hello, I'm Tamaru."
K: The strength in his eyes was the most powerful it's ever been!
T: For just a second, Taguchi looked like an eldest son to me, too (laugh). But when everything is said and done, Kame was the most like the firstborn. He directed this whole trip, and in the middle when I ran out of gas, Kame just said, "I'll go and ask for some gasoline!" and started running. Even though there's no way he could get it so easily, I thought that was pretty cool (laugh). In the end, Taguchi pushed the bike for me until the end.
K: If I'm the eldest, then Koki is like the second son. When Koki starts getting irritated, I thought, "I've got to stop him!" Just like being with siblings, it was really fun!
T: If we go again, I want to do it in the summer... it was too cold to have a barbecue.
Does your partner have traits that you'd like him to work on? In response to that question, Koki was rehearsing his own answers alone, "I'm not the kind of person you think I am!" "Don't treat me so kindly!" (Averting his eyes). However....
An unexpected turn causes Koki to lose his cool!
T: There is one thing I want Kame to fix... I don't want you to keep treating me so .. kindly... (laugh)
K: .... What? If I had to come up with something I want you to change, that would be the way you just leave your clothes lying around and how you wear the same thing all the time.
T: Ah, yeah, yeah (he was hoping Kame would say, "You're pretty good to me, too"). On the trip, too, my clothes all ended up folded at some point. Sorry about that.
K: I was the one who picked them all up...
T: Yes, Kame, you're such a good boy~ you're so considerate~
K: That's not a matter of me being good, but my parents taught me well.
T: Oh.. okay (he thought Kame would reciprocate, but he's thrown off with the unexpected response). It was environment, huh!
K: Right, the environment.
T: Hmm. Well, I first thought of you as a really great guy back from the first time I sent you a text for advice. Even though it was in the middle of the night, you called me right away. It was the first time I'd ever consulted you for anything, so I got really embarrassed and I didn't answer the phone.. I just watched it until it stopped ringing (laugh).
K: So that's what happened? I was wondering why you didn't pick up. In the first place, mail from you always comes so late at night that it's early morning. Even today, I got three messages from you at 5:30AM and it woke me up.
T: Oh, it was just that I found something I said I'd send you so I thought I'd better do it while I remembered.
K: I was awakened at 5:30AM for a video of
Yajima Biyoushitsu... Anyway, but Koki is usually the rowdy type, but when someone is depressed, he's the type who will go up to them and ask what's wrong. Even when I'm feeling down and don't have an appetite, he sends me texts.
T: That was because you were so depressing that being near you was even sad. Also, because Kame and I have been in plays and dramas together, too, I have a feeling we've spent the most time together. That's why it's easy to talk seriously about work with you, and it's easy to do serious acting with you. If Nakamaru were opposite me, I'd definitely start laughing.
K: After all is said and done, we're the same age, we're both type B, and the ups and downs in our emotions are extreme...
T: We might have a lot in common after all.
K: But even I wouldn't text you at 5:30AM.
