I emptied my wallet for the second time this week on dinner. Ehehehe. I'll be working as many shifts as I can get my hands on in the next few weeks to finance this insanity. How am I going to spend any money in London?
Teaching this week went better, but partly because I had so little time. I drove into Boston with a rental car (my first time driving in this state!), which went okay despite hail, but we got there late. I went through some fruits and some animal sounds and read a half Japanese book that the teacher gave me-- one of the little boys was shocked that I could read it. I'm spending more time and effort on this class I think than any of my others combined. It wasn't supposed to be this way, but I guess it's a natural consequence of actually having responsibility.
I talked a lot in the MIT seminar today. My participation grade needs it. I really enjoy this class!
For dinner, we went to
Meritage in Boston, a very fancy place in a hotel on a wharf near Quincy Market. The food was amazing. It's perfect that we ended Restaurant Week on this note. I had: Wood Grilled Atlantic Halibut with Saffron Shrimp Broth; Cracked Pepper Pappardelle Pasta with Black Olives, Graffiti Eggplant and Parmesan Cheese Sauce; Citrus Tasting Plate of Blood Orange Mousse in a Honey Tuile, Lemon Poundcake with Candied Red Grapefruit, Baked Lime Custard.
Our plates were pretty much spotless after every course. I don't remember being this impressed with food since restaurant week last year. XD
Someday I will be able to do things like this without feeling horrendously guilty afterwards, I hope.
