JK Rowling is a killer of dreaaaaaamss...
SHE ALWAYS KILLS OFF MY FAVORITE PEOPLE WHY WHY WHY?!?! SO UPSETTING.
Also the very infrequent mentions of Sirius made me angry as his "death" should obviously have been more traumatic for everyone.
I think with this book I actually believe that, in Rowling's Potterverse anyway, Sirius is gone. But the falling-through-the-convenient-curtain thing is NOT ACCEPTABLE as a plot device.
And then there was the evil Remus hetero moment which we shall not go into detail about except that DENIAL DENIAL DENIAL will subsequently commence. REMUS + SIRIUS FOREVAH DAMMIT. Ahem.
Overall... VERY UPSETTING BOOK. Still, I finished it in one sitting. I like how easy her writing is and the absence of massive description tangents.
...there are much more (probably less intelligible) ramblings about HBP, seeing as I read it in 6ish hours and then spent the rest of my 12 hour flight stewing in my disturbed-ness.... but as I am in desperate need of Sirius/Remus fluff, we shall stop here.
But I did learn that Harry Potter book + airplane = GOOD IDEA. By the time I checked the flight time there were only 7 hours left (of, like, 12) so that was good.
...by the way, I'm back. And there will probably be a Japan-ish post sometime in the near future.
