My precinct really disappoints me.
Bush to Kerry was something like 300+ to 170-90ish.
Obama to Keyes was exactly 282 to 198. He did not lose by as much as I had hoped he would.
And I was absolutely shocked to find out that everyone I know in my precinct is Republican. At least, every one that has a declared political affiliation on their voter application. Ironic, then, how twistedly liberal and leftist I turned out.
Hunger and tiredness from waking up at 5:00am made me nauseous by noon and I was falling asleep. The whole day was a CONSTANT shift between sugar high and CRASH!!! Next time-- if there is one-- I will sleep at least 20 hours prior to election day.
Also-- I was definitely the only one under 60 in that room most of the time. Although one relatively young middleaged man was not annoying and quite entertaining and one lady never stopped referring to me as "the girl in the striped shirt." I wanted to shoot her.
The day was long the end I'm sleepy.
EDIT: random note-- my precinct hit about 64% voter turnout and I could have counted the people under 30 with two hands and had fingers left over. A lot of fingers left over. Not a good sign?
