(no subject)
I gave another of those 90 minute America speeches today. I really can't hold up for 90 minutes. People get tired of listening for that long! And unfortunately my audiences never really want to ask questions...
After that, I went karaoke-ing (400 yen for two hours!) and went to English cafe with two co-workers. Both of my English students from before showed up, and it was a big fun group.
We ended up crashing an acquaintance's birthday party (is it still crashing if you tenuously know the person?), and I stayed longer than I intended but it was fun. I wanted one of my co-workers in particular to get out and meet more ALTs, and he seemed to have a good time, so I succeeded!
An addendum, on a douche: was sitting in a corner with 3 other people when an AEON ALT I've never met approached. He already knew one of the people, introduced himself to the girl next to me (Korean) and struck up a conversation. Then he got caught up somewhere and came back to introduce himself to the guy on the other side of me (Japanese) and talk about his name. Then he was like, nice to meet you all! and left. I had heard he was a jackass, and he came back afterward to join in our conversation where he proved that, but, um, what? I don't even understand.
I saw him again on the street today with a Japanese girl but ignored him (I'm sure he didn't even recognize me).
