The Wedding Update

And here it is...the wedding update.

Let me first say that the last three weeks have been the best of my whole life. I'm married to a wonderful man and I'm ecstatic that I never managed to scare him off during the last three years. I'm a lucky lady :)

Now for the details!

Wedding day: Drama, turmoil, and bliss! The organ player was 30 minutes late and I forgot to wear my veil! Our little flower girl was just beautiful and did her job just great. I'll never forget gettting ready to walk through the doors to the sanctuary and looking into my daddy's eyes...and going up to the front of the church and seeing Kyle for the first time. We said our vows and I blubbered along...hearing Kyle say those words was the most beautiful thing that has ever happened to me. After the ceremony, the photographer told us to almost kiss and he would take a picture but we didn't hear him and started kissing, he was like "okay kids that's enough, almost kiss this time, okay?" And the reception was too much fun. Kyle and I danced our first dance and it was fun and awkward and wonderful. And then I danced with my dad and he tottally whipped out his dance moves, I was so proud of him :) Mamma was running around the whole time keeping the food and stuff going while Michael (my little brother) was sliding around on the dance floor on his knees. He made his sister proud :) We danced and laughed and it was marvilous thinking that all of those people came there to love us and celebrate our wedding with us. I felt so blessed to have all of our family and friends there. Mamma and daddy and Michael and Cara and Ulrik and Kyle and I worked so hard to get everything decorated and perfect, I felt so lucky to have them around. Cara kept me sane while everything was chaotic the days right before the wedding. I was thankful for Cara :) Enough with the moosh! On to the honeymoon!

The HONEYmoon: :)

Kyle and I had so much fun on our honeymoon. We started it out with a night in a hotel with a hottub and champagne (sp?) and it was wonderful. The next morning we got up and drove 10 hours to Memphis, TN where we stayed at the most disgusting hotel EVER. Pubic hair EVERYWHERE. And I mean EVERYWHERE. Ick. Anywho the next day I got on the phone with the manager of the hotel and got us the next night free. Meanwhile, we visited Beale Street and went to BB Kings Blues Club and a bunch of other fun clubs, it was a great time. Kyle even sat in with a real blues band and played harmonica on night, I was really proud of him :) When our two days there were over, we drove a couple of hours to Nashville where we also spent two days, going to the honky tonks and requesting "King of the Road" from every live band we saw. We also went to a wax museum, played at a go kart place where my engine was turned off by the guy who ran the place because evidently you aren't supposed win by blocking the people attempting to pass you on a go-kart course, had lunch at a beautiful aquarium restaurant, and bought Kyle a shirt. Then it was on to Cosby, TN where we stayed in a little cabin in the middle of beautiful no where, and I must say this was my favorite part. Other than finding a bee in the bed our first night there, it was heaven. There was this little tadpole pond out back and I got to feed them every night at 7 o'clock. They were just amazing to watch swimming around in there, had to be atleast 300 of them in various stages of tad-poleum. We went hiking out back and tried to find an ATM, cooked steaks and other food we foraged from the local food marts, read books, played awesome checkers games, watched Maverick on VHS while eating popcorn on the couch, played Van Morrison on audio cassette about a million times, sat in hammock swings on the front porch, and had such a good time I cried a little when we left. Then it was 10 hours back home. And here I am two weeks later, with a ring on my finger and a husband sitting across from me in a chair writing his own wedding update. God I'm in love. Thank god I'm in love :)

xoxo
