Room 212, Saturday morning

Apr 22, 2017 11:03

It had been a late night, and a very early morning, and Ada was still fast asleep and blissfully unaware of anything that might be going on across the island.

That probably wouldn't last.

[OOC: Open for those with reasons to be there and SP since I'm at work for four more hours or so!]

Of course Zia had known where the portal had taken her to, and when, because the dromonde had told her. And yes, she was supposed to ask Papa first because little girls weren't supposed to interpret what they saw on their own, but this had been pretty clear as far as Zia was concerned.

She went straight to her mama's room, since that was the closest, and walked in, to climb up on the bed. "Hi, mama."

Ada was never, ever, having sex ever again. There was a third one calling her some variation of 'mama.'

"You know I ain't your mama yet, right" she checked. "So it's not me bein' forgetful but me not knowin' at all... who are you?"

"Zia," she answered, not seeming bothered by this in the slightest, too busy snuggling up to Ada and ignoring any other children that might still be there. "I know you aren't m' mama yet you don't got your crutches.

Oh.

Ada managed to keep the wince off her face and not flinch. At least crutches was more mobile than Janie's mother seemed to be.

"Ah, aren't you th' clever one, then," she said softly, draping an arm over Zia's shoulders. "Take pity on your not-yet-mama, an' tell me some stories about you."

If she was subtly looking for scales, or webs between her fingers, well, there was always the possibility that Zia, like Gemma, was a foundling that Ada just hadn't wanted to give up to someone else.

"Last week I talked the twins in t' letting me run the pony ride for an hour an' I gave rides away to all the kids that looked real sad 'cause they didn't have no money and charged the rich kids double and Uncle Chester couldn't decide if it was funny or if I was in trouble," Zia shared, clearly unrepentant. "You said I was grounded 'cause I got caught 'like an amateur.'"
