Now and forever, your hand in mine

Nov 23, 2009 03:11

A poem based on the final moments of the film 'The Boy in The Striped Pajama's' and the last paragragh of the penulitamte chapter from the book of the same name.

And as the darkness surrounds us, my best friend
I still hold your hand tight as what comes is the end
Screaming and yelling, terror in the air
Yet as long as you’re with me, the pain I can bare
Weaker and weaker, my breath, your grip
The smell in the air, makes me feel so sick
But all I know, is your hand in mine
Despite the fact that death is coming, and now is our time
Silence is looming, darkness and despair
Death has taken us, none it will spare
But still I am holding, your hand so tight
Never to drop it, as we walk to the light
Now forever, together we can play
For death is forever, and today is our day
