Spoiler thoughts about the coming new season

Jul 30, 2010 21:10

I've been reading, viewing, discussing all the spoilers so far for season 6.

A few loose thoughts on the occasion of the Comic-Con nterviews:
  • the Givememyremote interview: the way Emily D's hanging on him. I really can't reconcile the thought of Boreanaz's womanizing ways with them hanging on each other like that. Call me shallow I suppose. Just a lot that's odd to old-fashioned me. So now the guerilla encounter would be real after all? striptease too? My thoughts as I said before: No contact B - B: unbelievable, unrealistic-same crap as on House where House and Cuddy supposedly had no contact whatsoever during his summer at the asylum. And he also came back to her having gotten a boyfriend (Lucas)... who stayed around (although not seen very often) for the whole season, all the way up to Cuddy accepting his marriage proposal only to, in the final ep, decide that she really wants House after all. So if Bones keeps on imitating House (remember the coma dream and hallucination), then I guess finale of season 6 is the ticket? Yes I know that would be 1 season earlier than on House but H &C weren't the center of the whole show, B&B though are.
  • also watch the best Hart Hanson interview
  • David B's Mapupu/Maluku joke in interviews is getting old... a tad disrespectful for Indonesians/people who love geography and don't just think that anything outside the US is kind of cute/funny, i.e., insignificant. Btw why not call them the Moluccan Islands, also an accepted variant and with more history attached to it (maybe only if you're Dutch or Flemish, I know). As Lorna Doone said: "The several times he mispronounced Maluku reminded me of his line to Brennan about when you make a joke, don't pile on. It was funny the first time...less so as he repeated it over and over." That's pretty much my opinion too. But yes I know only freaks like me :-) watch every single video... Still, I do think the show could do a better job of "educating" viewers at times. Anthropology and definitely archaeology are presented in a stereotypical way a bit too much. I love the way they make the scientific material analysis detailed and correct-at least it does seem that way but maybe I'm wrong... I wish they'd do the same with anthropology/archaeology background stuff too. o well...
  • possibility of new girlfriend just being a deep undercover for Booth? Too cruel toward Brennan in light of Booth's fake death in season 3
  • TV Guide interview: new serial killer is a sniper too. Elyon wrote: "Interesting that ED said how cold and calculating you have to be to be a sniper. How does that square with Booth and his sniper history?" It doesn't but then again nor did Bones encouraging Booth to go train snipers in ep 5x22 either... Note that Brennan will investigate "her own skeleton" in ep 6x04. That's gotta mean that the victim's story is eerily like her own story? I do like that idea. If it's done right, which I am pretty confident they can and hopefully do.
