5x13 The Dentist in the Ditch
Spoilers, eh...
This was a great episode again. The highlight was without a doubt the final scene with Brennan toasting on love. Bones Addicted made a beautiful picspam:
Brennan: “When Booth and I first met, I didn’t believe that such a thing as love existed. I maintained that it was simply brain chemistry, but perhaps Booth is correct. Perhaps love comes first and then creates the reaction. I have no tangible proof, but I’m willing to accept Booth’s premise.”
Booth: “To love.”
Is it just me or is this basically Brennan telling Booth that she loves him? I think so. In her own unique way, it is. Of course, in keeping with the dynamic of their relationship, this will go unacknowledged initially. Is he now more afraid of what they might lose if they were to cross the figurative line than she is? Surely, love is blind but by the end of this season 6 the latest this will have to come to its logical dénouement. Can't wait!
Talking about "picspams," fiery_twilight posted the latest installment in her "squeecap" series. One highlight:
This is the dialogue during this car scene:
BRENNAN; Did they seem happy together?
BOOTH; What?
BRENNAN; Jared and Padme? Do they seem happy? You put a high premium on feelings.
BOOTH; Don’t go twistin’ this around.
BRENNAN; You used to think that people could find true love.
BOOTH; I still do, okay? But this is Jared. He only just got sober.
BRENNAN; Well, if he’s sober, then he should be able to find love. I don’t understand the rules.
BOOTH; Ahh, there are no rules. There’s just life, okay, there’s just life.
Boy, did she catch Booth in a glaring contradiction or not? She's actually a bit afraid, we learn, that maybe Booth doesn't believe in real love anymore, she's physically sick in her stomach... Now that she's at the verge of accepting Love, she wants to make sure Booth is still on the same page. He is of course, just a bit overprotective/judgmental of his brother-force of habit-and... a little jealous too: Jared may get married soon, before Booth ever does. Verily, Brennan could help him out on that one! :-) You never know, she tends to go full-bore once she's made up her mind about something, she is fearless. They could just go from being very-very-close friends to getting engaged in one leap. After all, they've been for all intents and purposes dating for 5 years now.
