This becomes especially difficult for the less linear of us, who would sometimes like to skip to the parts that most concern a particular character. That said, the Star Trek fandom redefines the word enormous, and I found myself frustrated as I searched for the “highlights” - the best and truest moments - for the character who quickly became my favorite, Dr. Leonard H. The Rating:
As a helpful tool, I’ve included a rating for each review, gauging the amount of involvement you can expect from Dr. McCoy:
(0) - Complete no-show
(1) - Makes a cameo; unimportant to the plot, no redeeming moments or insights
(2) - Negligent involvement, but some redeeming moment
(3) - Reasonable involvement, with character development or other significant moment
(4) - Essential involvement or key moment
(5) - Central involvement or radiant moment
SPOILER ALERT: The guide below is thorough. The focus is on details and not plot, but those sensitive to spoilers might still want to be cautious.
