This was great. :) I loved the introspective quality, and the parenthesis and italics (which I've used before as well!) were a great way to show the more secret, hidden thoughts in a way that shows their tone. Nice work. :D

Thanks! I'm glad it came across as introspective, that's what I was aiming for. I didn't mean for there to be quite so much 'Brennan' in it, but sometimes fics take a life of their own...
