Shocks and Surprises (Chapter 9)
David saw Emily faint and immediately ran over to her. He didn’t care if he interrupted filming.
“Emily, Emily are you alright?!” David asked worriedly and tapped her shoulder. But he got no response. He looked around at the others who surrounded him. They all seemed liked blurry figures in the background to him. He was in shock after what happened to Emily.
“I’ll call an ambulance!” Michaela shouted and quickly took out her cell phone.
He than glanced at Hart
“Come on David. Hurry up and do CPR!” Hart urged him.
David shook his head and snapped back to reality.
He brought his mouth gently to hers and proceeded to do CPR. After a few attempts he saw her eyes flutter open and she coughed.
“Oh thank God your okay! Don’t scare me like that again” David said and kissed her forehead. Everyone breathed a sigh of relief
“What happened?” Emily asked after a minute.
“You fainted. Don’t worry an ambulance is on the way” David said comfortingly.
“I don’t need an ambulance!” Emily replied and slowly sat up on the ground.
She is so stubborn
“The last time you said you were okay and look what happened. I’m not taking any chances this time!” David said determinately.
Emily opened her mouth to protest but she then changed her mind when she saw the paramedics arrive with a stretcher. They examined her.
The rest of the cast moved away to give them some space.
“How are you feeling Miss ? I believe your water broke as you fainted” A paramedic informed them as she was being placed onto the stretcher.
“A bit light-headed but I’m fine” Emily replied.
David watched anxiously as the paramedics dealt with her. He went over to them.
“Excuse me sir, you can’t come with us on the ambulance unless you’re family!” Another one said and tried to shove him away.
David grew more frustrated as the middle-aged woman obviously didn't recognise him.
“I’m the father!” David practically shouted at the woman.
“Okay then please come on” The paramedic replied in a softer tone.
“David!” Emily called out to him. He walked beisde them while they placed the stretcher into the amublance.
“Don’t worry I’m coming with you” David replied with a smile and moved out of the way as four of the paramedics then lifted the stretcher outside into the ambulance.
He climbed in after them and the doors were closed.
Twenty minutes later they were at the hospital and Emily was rushed into the Emergency Room. They wanted to make sure the baby was alright.
David sat in the waiting room for what was sure to be the longest wait of his life.
