[Uh oh. Brennan can guess what Angela's shout is about. She cringes, but is almost physically unable to pull her hands from the keyboard of her laptop.

She didn't mean to write any of this! Nor did she ever mean to post it, it just... happened! She was supposed to be typing up a first draft of her new novel (might as well do something to pass the time) but then Kathy and Andy suddenly turned into Angela and Hodgins. And Brennan does not know why.

And damn it, but she can't stop thinking about writing a sequel of some sort.

Double damn. Angela. Still waiting for a reply. Distractedly, Brennan calls back:]

...Yes?

[Brennan is confused. Angela sounds unhappy. Brennan didn't think this little story was that bad. Is it that bad? She can't even tell. She just knows she had a sudden, compulsive need to type this down.]

Well, I... I just started to type my new book, but... it, it turned into this, somehow.

[That's the truth, at least. It was entirely unexpected, but she spent a good amount of time on it. Really, is it truly that bad? Angela's tone seems to imply so. A tiny amount of disappointment creeps into Brennan's tone as she speaks up again.]

You think it's bad.

No, I made you sound like a strong, independent woman who isn't afraid to satisfy her perfectly healthy sexual appetite. There's nothing wrong with that.

[Like a good bad ficcer, Brennan is quick to defend her view on certain events and characters... whom, unfortunately, happen to be real people in this case.]

It's fiction! By definition, the events described haven't actually happened. Although, you know, they could. You and Hodgins make a very complimentary couple.

[Brennan glances up at Angela from her bed where she's lounging against the headboard, laptop on her lap. She has a sympathetic expression on her face, caused by her friend's apparent denial.]

You shouldn't swear on that. You never know what can happen. And Hodgins really could be quite unpleasant especially prior to your employment at the Jeffersonian. Also no, I didn't call him ugly. He's not unattractive. He's just a little... short. Hey, this is only the first draft, I can reword that if you find it offensive.

[She pauses, eyes narrowing contemplatively.]

Do you think there's something going on with Angel and that friend of yours, Faith? I think there might be some tension there. Perhaps I should write about that next.

[Brennan simply smiles at Angela's insistence. The vaguely smug, I know something you don't kind of smile that's more in character for Angela after she's done throwing another innuendo-laden remark about Booth in Brennan's way.]

You once said something about catching up to my own reality, or something to that effect. Maybe you should consider taking your own advice.

[Angela's blunt wording makes Brennan lose the smile and scrunch up her nose in disgruntlement.]

Well, I have to write something! I can't not write today, for some reason, although curiously I seem to suffer from an insistent writer's block when it comes to trying to write about Kathy and Andy.

That's not how it was meant to be perceived, Angela. I thought you'd maybe wish to be one of those so-called traditional wives that like to stay at home considering your great love for children. Due to those several children you wanted, you wouldn't have time to work, so pointing out you needn't worry about providing for your family seemed... prudent at the time.

[Brennan's mouth opens and closes a few times at the Cam reference. She didn't think she was being insulting. Was she? Actually, Brennan can appreciate Cam's effectiveness, but facts are still facts.]

Wha-- I was not insulting Cam! It was simply a factual assessment of things. She's a good administrator. However, objectively, my skill set is more unique than hers.

[Is it really that bad? Brennan is starting to feel disheartened (it's probably nothing compared to how she'll feel tomorrow with a clear head). She didn't meant to insult anyone. She was only writing what popped in her head, but now it's starting to feel like a bad idea. Before she can say anything to that, Angela has already stormed over.

Brennan's jaw drops in astonishment as Angela suddenly snatches the laptop from her, but has no chance to protest before Ange is reading the passage from the story. She just shrugs, ignoring Angela's hand on her forehead.]

The jealousy is a valid alternative. And she has failed to find a mate - that's a fact. And she does hang around Hodgins suspicious frequency, haven't you ever noticed? You said it yourself, he's not an unattractive man.

[God. Booth was right when he told Brennan once she had no intuition. But unlike then, Brennan is now too cursed to see and agree to this herself.]

Maybe I'm just trying to think with my digestive tract for once.

[Whoa, waaaait. That sounded really wrong even to Brennan's fogged brain. Illogical and just... silly. Blinking and frowning, she pauses and thinks about Angela's question. Could she be right? Maybe.]

Curse... might present a sound hypothesis for this compulsion I seem to have today to write fictional accounts on actual people's lives. I don't think I meant to post this story about you and Hodgins on the Network.
