Massive spoiler round up post...

Aug 21, 2013 09:43

There's been a few spoiler posts while I've been away so will link to everything here to save multiple posts... (apologies for any duplication in spoilers I like to get everything listed here).

From TV Line:

Question: So, Bones creator Hart Hanson recently said that there were significant developments for the Sweets character in the upcoming season’s first half or so. Other than his guilt over Pelant’s actions, and an upcoming sabbatical that the 04/30 Ask Ausiello referred to, do you have more scoop on what else we are to expect from Sweets this season? -Ed Z

Ausiello: Season 9 will find the head shrinker questioning whether he “wants to keep doing what he’s doing at the FBI,” previews portrayer John Francis Daley. “No matter how hard he tries, he doesn’t feel like he’s making enough of a difference in the world. Profiling criminals wasn’t the reason he got into his profession in the first place. So this season will definitely explore that inner monologue that’s going on with him.” And as teased in that aforementioned AA column, Sweets’ soul searching takes him away from the Jeffersonian in search of greener pastures. “There’s an opportunity for him to do something completely different, and he tries it out,” Daley confirms. “And somehow it leads to a lot of guns being shot and a lot of drama in the interrogation room. It’s chaos!”

Got any Bones scoop that isn't related to Booth and Brennan getting married? - Noni

ADAM: After becoming Pelant's target in last season's finale, look for Sweets to take stock of where he is in his professional life. "Sweets is asking himself, 'What kind of psychiatrist is he?'" creator Hart Hanson teases. "Should he help individuals, or is he someone who, like our plucky team, helps society as a whole by catching bad guys? He misses helping people, and he really wants to get hands-on. So, we're going to put him through that."

From EW:

SO excited to see Freddie Prinze Jr. & David Boreanaz working together on Bones! Any deets on their characters Danny & Booth interactions? Friends or Foes? - Holly

Let’s go with complicated. You see, we meet Danny when he runs into Booth in the middle of an investigation on which they’re working on opposite sides. This, EP Stephen Nathan explains, allows the viewers to “see their friendship and relationship but also see the tension that exists between them because they’re operating from different sides.” And hope you like the character, who appears in the premiere, because he will be coming back at some point, per Nathan.

Other than the Sweets career crisis, what can you tell us about the fantastic B & B wedding and whether Booth’s friends will be around for multiple episodes or any other juicy scoop? We need more!!! - Ali

Wedding details are being kept under wraps, but it’s not unlike Bones to keep a few secrets from fans, which, by the way, transitions nicely into some scoop I CAN give you about a few OTHER secrets that will be revealed this season. “This season we are going to answer many of the questions that have plagued us and the audience for some time,” Nathan says. “We’re going to be looking at 4:47, the clock mystery. Perhaps we’re even going to find out what Brennan wrote to Booth when she was buried alive. Lots of character mysteries will be resolved this season.”

What else did you get from your interview with Stephen Nathan last week? Sounds like a great interview and I can’t wait to read it all! - Amelia

It was great because he’s great. And a master tease. One of my favorites? What he told me about Hodgins, who apparently will find out this season that his family history is “far more involved than he ever thought.” “A bill comes due that he never thought he had, but it had always been paid by the estate. Now, it comes to him and the bill is for a situation he could have ever envisioned,” Nathan says.

And yet more from TV Line:

Question: Any spoilers on one of my favorite Bones couples, Hodgins and Angela? -Ariel

Ausiello: A third party is coming in to stir up some drama between the happily-ish married couple. But it’s not what you’re thinking. “Hodgins is going to have to deal with a new family member,” previews exec producer Stephen Nathan, “and that will impact both Hodgins and Angela and their relationship.” Are we talking a brother? Sister? Cousin once removed and then put back? “I don’t want to say,” he demurs. “The way it comes out is such a surprise; it’s somebody that he wouldn’t know.” Look for the family reunion to take place within Season 9′s first 10 episodes.

Question: Can you please find out the nature of Sweets’ new job on Bones? -Angie

Ausiello: “He’s trying to do something to help people avoid a criminal life,” Nathan reveals of the shrink’s brief professional detour early in Season 9. “He’s working with kids in the inner city.”

OK.... and out of that article above I found this that I hadn't seen before:

Bones: Emily Deschanel Previews the Return of [Spoiler] and [Spoiler] - Plus: One Hot Twist

A blast from the past could play a role in saving Booth and Brennan’s future when Bones Season 9 gets underway.

In the second episode of the Fox fave’s new season (which opens Monday, Sept. 16), B&B go undercover at a couples retreat - but as “Tony and Roxy,” the personae they first created in Season 2′s “The Woman in the Sand.”

And one way or another, things are gonna get hot for the duo.

As Tony and Roxy, “We get to do sweat lodges, which I have personal experience with,” Emily Deschanel reports. (“I went to Crossroads School, and that was part of the curriculum!” she explains with a laugh.)

Alas, before any sweating commences, things are still chilly for Brennan and Booth in the wake of him bailing on their brand-new engagement, at Pelant’s bidding.

“There’s some tension there still,” Deschanel previews. “But as I’ve been saying, we start out in a bad place this season and it’s a slow journey to getting back together. [Entering Episode 2] we’re in a place that’s not great, but it’s better than where we started - so at least there’s hope there.”

Maybe Booth can restore their romance wholesale with one grand, romantic gesture? “Yeah…. Yeah…,” Deschanel agrees with a grin. “And that’s all I’m going to say!”
