Bones returned up with a 3.3 adults 18-49 rating in its season premiere. That was better than the 3.2 for the May finale (and 35% of those polled got it right) and the best premiere numbers since season 4 in September 2008.
Fox won the evening with its combination of The X Factor (Viewers: #2, 11.28 million; A18-49: #2, 3.6/10) and the season-premiere of underrated Bones (Viewers: #2, 10.02 million; A18-49: #2, 3.3/ 8. Compared to Thursday occupant Fringe on the year-ago evening (Viewers: 4.80 million; A18-49: 1.8/ 5 on 11/04/10), Bones built by a significant 5.22 million viewers and 83 percent in the demo. And the retention for Bones out of the 8:30 p.m. portion of The X Factor (Viewers: 12.29 million; A18-49: 4.0/11) was respectable at 81 percent in total viewers and 82 percent in the demo.
Source Bones came in second in the demos to Grey's and second in total viewers to Person of Interest. I think Bones did pretty well considering that it had a 6 months hiatus.
