Wow so I realized it's been forever since I posted anything here... Lately I've just felt the need to lurk in other peoples comment boxes. Anyway, life has been crazy in all kinds of ways. Between work, 20 (possibly 24) credit hours work of school and doing my best to be social I've been missing out on a lot of my nerd time. Like that new StarWars game. Got all my friends together to play it... And now I hardly have free time. Then again video games in general haven't been doing much for me lately, I'll turn it on about in about 10-20 minutes I feel like I need to be doing something more productive or at least with a tangible result.
That said I got a really awesome sewing machine for Christmas, a Janome 7318 Magnolia. (Yeah I know you're jelly. ^_-) and decided to start off small with a face mask costume piece for this game I play. The pictures to follow are pretty damning as to how deep my geek goes but, it's fun for me so folks can keep on drinkin' their Hater-aid.
Anyway the neat part of this is that I didn't have an actual pattern just a store bought mask for years ago that I had to look over and hand make a pattern that had the look I really wanted. Over all, I think it was a success but let me know what you think...
First, masky by it self.
How it looks with some of my gear on.
How the whole outfit comes together... Can you guess how I am? I'm the guy in the black armor... With the red highlights. ;)
This one is just for fun... But why I like these games so much. Normally people say they're for out of shape nerd types but it takes a bit of physic to strap on 60-80 pounds of armor and shield and run around for a few hours while dealing out full arm swings... Or my preference being shield bashes.
