How I'm Spending My Christmas Vacation

Dec 28, 2007 18:25

For starters, I haven't been spending much of it on the computer, as my family demands my time with a "ME WANT HONEYCOMB" level of intensity and enthusiasm. In fairness, they haven't seen me in several months and I'm very bad at making phone calls.

So far I've managed to break my glasses (which have been fumbling toward destruction for a while now, and at least they gave up the ghost while my parents were on hand to pay for a new pair as a post-Christmas present), scored a dental appointment that I won't have to pay for (lucky me, I think I've got another cavity forming), bought three delightfully bad PS2 games for $15 (the Gamestop bargain bin is a wonderland), and got my mother hooked on Wii Play (since she's very competitive but not very adept with the Wiimote, this has been awesome). Unfortunately, the timing of the free dental appointment means that I can't make it up to Athens for New Year's, but at least my uninsured mouth will not rot.

I will now roll back over so that I can continue to play Scrabble with my parents and shovel chocolate-covered everythings into my mouth.

good times
