Sometimes I Play Games

Since there are (and, until January, will be) no Wiis near me, these are not hot new console games, but I am adaptable. I'm tough. I spend only a few hours a day thinking about how much a Santa hat looks like a fluff-enhanced version of Link's hat when he's wearing the red ring/tunic/what-have-you.

Anyway, I sold a piece of my soul to Bookworm Adventures and giggled with delight when I spelled "novitiate" against an enemy with only one heart left. I was having so much fun that I went to purchase the game at the end of the demo, only to find that it costs about thrice as much as I was expecting to pay. I, uh, worked around that.

The shiny new Sam & Max is much more reasonably priced, and after some weirdness with my online shopping cart, I put in my order late last night for Episode 1 now and Episodes 2 through 6 as they are released. Episode 1 was delicious and kept me off the streets for a few hours. It took me a little while to get used to the new voices for the titular characters, but they grew on me. (Hey, my seven-year-old self may have been deeply distressed by the right-handed Link on my Zelda bedsheets, but I'm not that much of a curmudgeon.)

Having completed my no-saves-hardcore runthrough of Ocarina of Time's Master Quest mix, I think my new Gamecube memory card and I should embark on a playthrough of the original quest. It's been a while since I played the version that doesn't populate Jabu-Jabu's belly with cows' heads.
