Gaming Geeks Go to the Movies

Dec 20, 2005 14:35

I saw the new The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe movie this week with my family, and I quite enjoyed it, although there were a few parts where I could hear the echoes of the little voice in the director's head that wanted to make everything more like The Lords of the Rings. Anyway, our viewing lead to the following geekery with my brother on the ride home:

Me: So, Peter-- paladin or protection-specced warrior?

Bro: Warrior. If he were a paladin, he would've shield-hearthed.

Me: Very true. And Susan's obviously a hunter, even though she kept forgetting to summon her pet.

Bro: And Lucy's a priest. She got the dagger, even.

Me: Speaking of which, they should have brought a rogue.

Bro: They did. Edmund was spamming Backstab the whole time.

Me: Hey, he was! Too bad he turned into a combat-specced sword rogue.

Bro: But Riposte worked out for him against the witch.

Me: Point. What they really needed was a mage. They had no AoE.

Bro: Yeah, that battle would have ended so much faster with someone setting off Arcane Explosions everywhere.

I make no apologies, for either this or our post-Goblet of Fire shenanigans.
