While I was online last night, I began to smell something very unpleasant wafting in from the living room. My investigation turned up my family's enormous sheltie looking very happy and pleased with herself next to an epic-sized pile of poo. Seriously, I don't drop logs that big. At least it was on the tile. After cleaning up the mess, I glanced at the hall rug and noticed a dark spot about a foot and a half in diameter in the middle of it. Oh, yes. My luck is that good.
I ended up just dragging the rug outside and hosing it down, then mopping up the (large) area where the canine urine had soaked through to the floor. I will be excused if I am somewhat less than enthused about filling out grad school applications this morning.
In other news, I am really, genuinely healthy again, aside from the sore throat I'm still getting from sinus drainage, and I've resumed jogging. It's amazing how much progress one can lose in a month and a half. When I go 2.25 miles now, I have to push harder than I used to when I was going 3.5. I expect this will sort itself out in a few weeks.
Also, since I spectacularly failed to accomplish much during NaNoWriMo this year, I think I should really start dusting off my Grammar Vigilante project and posting it up in bits on my LJ as I get it written. If there is a crowd to appreciate that sort of goofy geekery, this is that crowd. And it would give me something else to do when I am overwhelmed by OMG GRAD SCHOOL BLING-BLING.
...I mean, something other than WoW. I'm so close to Level 60 I can taste it.
