On Verbs, Irregular

"Glided" never sounds correct to me. I propose that it be replaced by the more melodious "glode," with "glidden" as the past participle. Try making some sample sentences and see if you don't agree.

Someday I will begin to treat every English verb as excitingly irregular, and conversing with me will become an event. Until then, I'm going to sit ( Read more... )

Hmm. My brain was wandering in the general direction of "ride," but "had glid" has a nice sound to it.

I was also thinking that "glid" sounded better, although I was thinking along the lines of "bite". "Slide" makes much more sense.

Half the fun of learning German is reciting irregular verbs. My favorite is gehen/ging/ist gegangen. It has such a ring to it.

On another subject entirely: how was Kyoto and the great West?

Both were awesome and deserve proper write-ups, but I am so very lazy. Suffice it for now to say that I stayed at a neat little inn in Kyoto and got to spend the day with Erin in Kobe, so a good time was had by all.
