also you should check out Graham Nelson's (the author of inform)game, Jigsaw. It is absolutely fantastic.
I took a class on IF, and that was the only game on our syllabus I didn't beat. I played all through the HP Lovecraft bleh of Anchorhead, and I ran through 9:05 about a million times. But Jigsaw was at once the best and most difficult of all the games we played.
Ooh, I remember starting to play Jigaw several years ago and ending up fantastically stumped. I need to download it again and achieve victory, 'cause what I remember of it was very, very good.
