I've begun playing Minish Cap, and so far it seems they've distilled the hokey treasure-map-decoding guy from Wind Waker to a pure, freebaseable form, and I'm not sure I like it.
The bizarro gumby creature that becomes the hat was pretty clever though. Let me know if the boss fights are worth the back spasms...
I rather like Minish Cap (of course, I used to sleep on Zelda bedsheets, so I tend to be a bit partial to all things Link), and at least some of this has to do with my fascination with the items. I must have spent half an hour seeing how many things I could accomplish with my magical vacuum cleaner. I'm also biased in that the Japanese is not completely over my head, so basic reading comprehension gives me that special thrill. And I take an almost guilty delight in combining the Happiness Shards/whatever they're called in the English version.
I found the boss fights a little too easy (but not unenjoyably so) until the final boss, who suddenly declared on his third form that he wasn't going to take any more guff and/or damage from me. Then there was the shrinking and the failed vacuuming and the falling and the oh my.
