Tonight was the year-end party for the Board of Education. It was a vast improvement over last year's offering, mostly because I had a friend attending (yay, someone who won't just fire off rapid, accented Japanese at me!) along with several other demonstrably cool people I've worked with in the elementary schools. Also because I rock at velcro darts and ended up winning a ridiculous number of door prizes with my mad tossing skillz. Hey, there's no feeling quite like "I've had twice as much sake as you have, but I'm still hitting the bull's eye."
It didn't hurt that the food was great. Sushi and beer is quite possibly one of my favorite dinner combinations. And they gave me the leftover (very expensive) sake, possibly because I had been demonstrating great appreciation for it for the last three hours. There's only about a glassful left in the bottle, but I'll make it a good one.
Now I'm going to play with my door-prize calculator and put on my fuzzy door-prize socks. When I get around to finishing off that sake, I'll probably drink it out of my new, door-prize beer mug, unless I decide to use my door-prize decorative glasses instead. I can find them in the dark with my door-prize flashlight, and I can record their location with my door-prize pens.
Oh, yeah. Like a bandit.
