In a nutshell
Looking back on my "recent" posts, I realize I haven't been on LJ, not REALLY on it, for 2 years. I haven't made a non-apologetic entry, or an entry not using the words "I'm alive" for 2 years! And while I'd like to blame that on a guy, really all I can blame is my own laziness. And a broken computer.
So please. Fill me in on your lives. Since it's impossible (or at least, highly illogical) for me to read 2 years worth of my f-list, give me the cliff's notes version. Or link me to a couple important or entertaining posts. I've missed you all. Reading about your lives reminds me that I'm not the only intelligent, crazy, frustrated, burnt-out person out there!
Here's the abridged version of my life since we lost contact:
Jan 05 Ran into an old friend I hadn't seen in 10 years. He had been 13 at the time. Couldn't get him off my mind.
March 05 (St Patty's Day) Ran into said friend again. Ended up making out all night, and haven't spent more than a week apart ever since.
Feb 06 I got a job. And went into a hole.
Dec 06 I quit that job after finally realizing it was sucking my will to live. I was asked to "house-sit" for a house that was for sale. Something about it costing more to insure a vacant property. The catch? I had to keep the place clean enough that they could show it with 20 minutes notice to me, and I had to have the place spotless every Sunday for the open house. That finally ended a week ago, when they decided to go with a broker and a lock box and no notice required for showings. During that time, a cat adopted me. She had been left behind by the former occupants. Her name is Nelli (she was a "nervous Nelli" at first!) and will likely have her own LJ soon!
NOW: I'm still volunteering for FOFAS (Friends of the Fairmont Animal Shelter) and was actually in charge of our cat and kitten program for a week and a half when both of my supervisors were out of town! I'm looking for a new job, and looking for an apartment. Unfortunately one must come before the other, since 4 months without paychecks, on top of buying a bunch of supplies for the house I was staying at (don't worry, everything I bought came with me) have kinda wiped out the checking account.
