Is it really true that keeping windows closed helps keep rooms cool in temperatures like this? There's absolutely no wind, so I understand that there's no chance of catching a cooling breeze even if I do leave the windows open, but I always thought that it was better to let air circulate and all that? It's unbearably stuffy in my room at the moment.

It seems silly that I never acclimatise to British summers. When I was in Spain I just got used to the temperature. In fact, it was probably hotter over there, and it was autumn. Maybe my body just can't accept the fact that it's actually warm here in England instead of grey and rainy like usual.

Suggestions and advice for keeping cool would be greatly appreciated! I'm out of ice cream, shock horror.
