a modern reinterpretation of stalin
they'll call it
version 2.0
a thirty-eight thousand
dollar experiment
and hook him
up to
those things they used
when they wanted to know why he drempt
(and wondered why he couldn't,
with all those diodes and lights pulsating
flashlights:
hunting)
cold, white walls
shuffling shoes, slick the cement
trays under door frames,
'speak!'
string taught,
glistening bravado
shaking, a shiver of sunlight
tinged, 'we think he stops breathing
every few seconds,'
(but never found out why)
