Honestly, I haven't found anything good on FF in years... then again, I'm just picky. Sad to hear my impressions of the (lack of) Castle LJ community were accurate though.
And, you might possibly be the only person who's read my ramblings. Glad you found some of them interesting enough to read. It's basically my substitution for having an episode discussion, since I haven't found anyone who'd be willing to sit around talking about Beckett (rather than the Caskett) for hours and hours.
It made me think about how it's fascinating that Castle is supposed to be this intuitive person who knows things about Beckett she doesn't even know but somehow he manages to act like a complete jackass in late s4 and parts of s5.
Yeah, don't even get me started... I mean, I love him, but there have definitely been times where a combination of arrogance and utter blindness have caused him to become a total douchebag. I still can't get over how his reaction to hearing she remembers her shooting is to be angry at her rather than being mortified at what she must have to live with...
In a lot of ways, Ticking is another sort of response besides the meta to the issues between B/C that keep cropping up in the series (not so much lately, but s5 and before, definitely). I'm looking forward to stripping some of them down and examining them, since I've always felt like Castle stuck Beckett on a podium back when he first started writing about her and I feel like that's where a lot of the issues from his side are coming from...
