Dinner (or lunch) and a SHOW!

So I had lunch with a friend today, she suggested a place near her office downtown I had not been to before called Cafe 54 on Pennington. cafe54.org The place was hopping, and the downtown lunch crowd is always a bit intense. She informed me after we found a table, they use some folks with disabilities on their staff. This was not immediately noticeable, but soon became apparent when someone came to bus our dirty table and it took three trips and a lot of muttering, then later when a terrified looking young woman came and asked us if we wanted bread, we said "yes" but then our food came and my friend turned her bread down when she came back. She looked up and was clearly startled and unsure what to do with the two plates with rolls on them in her hands. I said "I'd like my bread thank you" the spell was broken and she was clearly relieved to be able to hand over one plate. To top all of this off the second room of the place was reserved for a function that had the already "somewhat high strung" staff in a tizzy...needless to say this made everything even more HILARIOUS! And to top it all off, the food was really good and very well priced. I will definitely be heading back there!
