B-Day Fun!
So ya, I am older now but eh'
I had a fabulous weekend! My hubby joshkassel , our son and our friends deviledhoney her hubby and daughter all went to Prescott, AZ for the weekend. It was a bit of a spur of the moment trip ( we only threw the idea around a little over a week ago. Some other retired friends have a house up there (with a LOT of bedrooms) that they are selling and use as a getaway place. Prescott is a quasi half hippy half conservative small town with a lot of draw from Phoenix. It has accountants on Harleys and hemp sandal wearers and a LOT of old coots selling antiques. It was a lot of fun to meander around and look at all the history and general funk. The kids played well together and distracted each other enough that no one had to parent too much. We had a ton of great food (and wine) and walked around all day Sat going to museums and antique stores. There was some sort of festival going on at the prescott museum complex (Prescott was the seat of the Territorial govt.). There were a bunch of reanactors from all over and the place and period (frontier-victorian) and they played with the kids, there were games and all kinds of fun...and aside from a grumpy antique dealer who snapped at me when I asked him a question about a pickle dispenser, it was a lovely weekend.
