2 in 1 book review

After years reading in the SF genre, I finally got to a Barsoom book.  Like many of the books that fall outside my usual reading, this one landed on my TBR pile because it was part of the Masterpieces of Science Fiction series.  This particular volume included At the Earth's Core and A Princess of Mars.

While running the risk of seeming unsophisticated, I must admit that I enjoyed both of Burroughs pulp classics.  They would not be considered of publishable quality today, of course, but were truly groundbreaking for their age.  And, to people who can avoid the postmodernist dictate that the reader completes the author's message, these are very entertaining books, and it's easy to understand their appeal.

I liked both nearly equally, with the nod going to Princess by a nose.  I imagine that many of you have read these - would love to know what you thought!
