No, I'm not starting some nutty new religion... It's just that the excellent folks at Beam Me Up have my story "Evasion" featured on
their latest podcast. They actually enjoyedTenth Orbit and Other Faraway PLaces enough that they are helping with the promotion by podcasting one of the stories therein, "Evasion". This one is a fun romp which I think you guys will like.
Once you're there, stick around and look / listen to the rest of the stuff. These are great people who are truly writer-friendly and deserve the attention.
I've always wondered about audio. It seems like a strange way of getting your reading done, but I can see how useful it would be when driving, etc. I know some of you like listening to entire books... Are there any other instances when this would be better than reading?
In other news, I've been reading (thanks to
dsmoen ), a great account of a young Belgian couple crossing Congo-Zaire. Wow. It makes one think about the way African nations have wasted their potential, so long after the end of colonialism. An true eye-opener, if a bit long. Link
here.
Finallly, my writing report: 1000 words today, evenly distributed between a superhero story and an SF tale.
