I'll start this post off with a statistic that I find interesting, which is that the first three or four zombie stories I ever wrote sold (not immediately perhaps, but they sold). This surprised me because zombie stories are supposed to be impossible to place anywhere - although that preconception might have to do with the huge quantity of absolutely terrible zombie fiction out there.
I'm having a similar experience with superhero fiction. I've written precisely two superhero stories, and both sold to paying markets within a month of having been written. The first went to
POWerful Tales, while I've been informed that the second, "Honor Among Thieves" has been accepted by
A Thousand Faces, THE ultimate superhero fiction mag, IMO. I'm feeling honored today, and I join a bunch of my SFReader friends who've published there. The story should be published during 2011.
