hungry rant

Sometimes I sit back and think "hey, maybe I really do like the food in this country." Chicken nuggets, burgers, subs, pizza, apple pie, cinnamon buns, mac & cheese, even manwhich - it's good. I could be happy, right?

Then I watch an episode of No Reservations or stumble across a blog that reviewed a Malaysian restaurant in London, or whatever... ( Read more... )

You've just given me about a thousand more reasons to convince my dad that I need to go to Malaysia for my summer vacation. I need more culture, dammit! All I know is American food!

I'm sold. We'll just tell airport security that you're some life-sized puppet that we take everywhere with us.

My dad sent us pictures from his condo in Ipoh yesterday...he lives in company housing, but the view from his room is GORGEOUS! Not to mention he gives a daily log of what he eats...not only does it sound delicious, it's so cheap! I'm starting to see why you love it so much :)

We'll pull me out and do that one scene from Chicago and we'll have them SOLD on the puppet thing. For sure!

I wanna know what he's eating~ that sounds awesome. I'm glad he's sending you stuff. I hope everything isn't too stressful for you guys. Despite the awesome, it's still a long ways away...

Wow. The thought of doing that in an airport amuses me to no end.

He's been eating lots of fish. Well, all types of seafood, actually :) And he said he's pretty certain he's had a different type of sauce at every meal :) My mom told me I could make him a list of things I wanted him to buy...he's recently discovered the market in town :)

It's not been too bad, since my mom does have a job of her own. She just gets kind of lonely now and then. But she'll have all three of her kids back for her birthday (her first in about 20 years without my dad), which will be good for her.

And my dad just isn't that big of an email/phone guy. Oh, he can talk your ear off face-to-face, but any other form of communication, he's practically useless :P
