...Cause then the temperature would be a whole lot cooler. Or it would be muggy but we'd get to stand out in the delicious precipitation though?! :D

Yesterday my back started getting steadily bad, and when I thought I could walk it out it just got even worse and by 7pm all I could do was cry. AWESOME, AMIRITE?! >_I had a bath for over an hour to ( Read more... )

Its a collection of things culminating in me having chronic back pain forever, but its been REALLY bad now for a year. *sighs*

Basically,

1) my spine is as straight as a ruler, no natural curvature at all caused by my lack of interest in crawling as a baby. I rolled everywhere, and then one day I just got up and walked. Impressive on paper, missing a valuable development step in practice

2) I have illiopsoas on the spine, a back condition in which the illiopsoas muscles basically give up supporting your internal organs/bones, and attack the spine. Inciting your other connecting muscles to do the same (or to try and overcompensate for the ones that aren't doing their job which is just as bad). Thats kind of it in a nutshell xD Its more complex than that and it has some WICKED side effects >_<;;;

3) I was in a hit and run accident when I was a teenager - someone hit me with their car while I was on my bike on my way to karate. I happened to be carrying my bo at the time too, so when I flung off the bike the bo hit the ground and rolled across the spoon drain, and my lower back fell along the spoon drain onto the bo. OUCH..! They said I was lucky my back wasn't broken at the time, but that my lower muscles might never recover

4) The doctors have some other theories to go with these but they can't substantiate any of them so they're basically just "do what you always do, you're pretty good at managing this yourself apart from this bout and if it gets too horrid, here take 92038209 valium" ^_^;;

This stuff coupled with some other minor things, and that I have a sedentary job, almost all my hobbies involve sitting (sitting = BAAAD) and or carrying heavy things (WTF DOLLS WHY YOU SO WEIGHTY!?) and that I wore heels for about ten years straight before my first major back issue reared its ugly head...

I'm kind of fucked. xD

It gets better and less painful some of the time, it had hardly really bothered me for a few years before this whole year of horror. I have stretches and such that I do -- usually in the shower cause them + the hot water = GOD xD -- Physical exercise definitely helps but its getting to a point where I can do it without hurting myself at the moment which is the biggest issue.

OH DEAR!! Epic back IS epic. /more air hugs

Do you put stuff in your bath or is it just the hot water that helps? My friend uses epsom salts. $3/bag at costco or something.

I had no idea you got curvature in your spine as a baby through moving around. Huh. Ack! I admire your strength. =)

dude, I was cleaning out my inbox (which is pretty much made up of "posts I thought I would reply to later") and realized I never commented on this. Wow. You really did not get lucky with the back thing! It's like everything that can go wrong, went wrong in that area.
I can't imagine what you go through, any little bit of muscle pain and I whine forever.
