To all the parents I know, both near-future and very current!

OKAY! SO! This is an important parental-community announcement! XD

Yesterday when my massage therapist was doing work on my neck, he asked "Did your mum ever tell you how old you were when you started crawling?"

To which I replied, "Uh... I never crawled, I rolled everywhere until I was about one and a half and then just stood up and ran."

APPARENTLY thats why my spine is a ruler..! Crawling within the first twelve months is essential to form the correct spine shape, and I skipped that bit completely.

He informed me that its really important to put your kids on blankets/etc on the floor on their stomach so they're encouraged to push up, look around and (in theory) crawl forth. This way the natural curvature of the spine is formed while their bones are still soft.

Not that it worked for me, there's 9320483209 photos of BabyNett™ lying on her stomach, pushing up with her arms in order to look elated at everything from shagpile carpet to shoes. BabyNett™ then just went "WOO SIDEWAYS!" But still..!

DON'T LET YOUR KIDS BE ME! MAKE THEM CRAWL! CRACK A WHIP IF YOU HAVE TO! XD XD

back, babies
