I get the feeling that I definitely benefited from not reading that Harry Potter book before seeing the movie. It had pretties, it had Daniel Radcliffe filling out a series of very nice shirts, and it had Alan Rickman opening his mouth and saying.. Well who cares what he said really? That's good enough for me ^_^

YAY
jtph_jo!! <333 I couldn't afford AVCon this year but she decided she wanted to go with me since we hadn't seen each other since May & couldn't make it to my birthday, so sprung for me to go today, which was very spur of the moment really and I'm so glad she did, THANKYOU JO!!!!
Prompted by a un-bespectacled Liam, we checked out the Lolita forum with Washi (Jo was in full Lolita gear, with Amity dressed to match), the merchandise room (only one this year! O_O;; with MUCH less stuff O_O), then Jo was harangued into the FruitsFashion Show at the very last second because they were 'short on entries' and WON! Against some very impressive entries. She wore
all-hallowed Baby, didn't think she'd even place and VOILA! She got a latest Gothic Lolita Bible, and was asked for 90380923821 photos alone/with people/with her dorrie/as a roritagod for the rest of the day after that. AWESOME!! :D
The bible is TO DIE FOR, when I finally have some kind of a semblance of money again I'm either subscribing or buying as many as I can get my hands on. I shall build a fashion library in my home of beauty and much sewing. Oh I SHALL!
We ran into
dishlexicman & crew, scouted about for food (this random cleaning lady told Jo her doll was GORGEOUS, going on and on about how lovely she was and then looked Jo up and down and said 'Oh, you've very pretty too...' and promptly left XD), picked up a dvd for
deasilvae, then went to the AVCON Gameshow™ which was a travesty at best. XD Jo kept insisting I raise my hand to get picked on one of the panels but there was so no way. Especially as the asian ring-in-replacement was seriously good and I'd have no chance being wittier than him. XD
PAIN AND SUFFERING that I had no camera, Tinka has definitely given up the ghost, 100%. SO MANY PEOPLE dressed up this year! Maybe it was the gorgeous weather but whoa I swear double the amount than last year. Definitely inspires me to attempt to save even in the face of siblings and go next year dressed up -- even if its just in some kind of Ero Lolita (MmMmm corsets! <3). I WANT PHOTOS! I'm going to have to trawl the Australian Costumer's Guild site to see if they post any piccits -- they SURELY have ones of Jo!
