Roomba boomba loomba cooomba...
So thornae and Gemma have been telling me all about roombas and how I should probably save to get one considering vacuuming conventionally puts me in bed for several hours. After doing some research I discover that I can buy one of these awesome things for about $400 less than I bought my current monster! WHOA!
So I guess I'm going to soon be living in the future! ROBOTS WILL DO THE WORK!
Trying to find a normal retailer for them in Australia is just ridiculous though! I'd love it if I could take my current wertheim bohemouth (although it served us very well for a time) in for a trade-in on a roomba, even if it was only for $100 (which is sad since I bought it for $800 but anyway) that would still knock a fair amount off the price of one of these guys.
Ausvac doesn't seem to carry them and I have no clue who else does trade-ins! XD
Plus the Scooba looks AWESOME! Especially because I can't mop a floor to save my life (I end up smooshing all the dirt around, its quite pathetic really). BLECH! XD Looks like its going to be a long time before they get sold around here though. Guess thats only a plus, I really should be buying a bench-top dishwasher anyway so its easier for me to clean up without breaking myself all the time...

I could possibly buy a roomba right now if I dipped into my 'uber' & bill savings... But then what would I do with the Vacuum I have currently? Ebay, which doesn't look to promising? Trading Post?
Guess I should ring Ausvac and see how much they would buy the Wertheim off me for, and go from there...

The Electrolux Trilobite 2.0 is $600AUD, but it is sexy There is another ultra one that uses a sonic system to judge room sizes and its vacuum trajectory. That retails at around $3000AUD The Genius is a 'no name' brand and is similar to the Roomba. Although it does not automatically go to its bay station. It normally retails at $190AUD
I bought a Genius, as they were on special for $99. If he's crap, I can take him back, but he's charging in the hallway as we speak so I'll let people know. jtph_jo suggested we call him Herbert. Herbert the Singing Vacuum. I like it. As it was spoken, so shall it be.
