Summer Darkness 2006
EDIT: Well, that went mostly according to plan.
This weekend is the weekend of "Summer Darkness" maybe the biggest multi-day goth festival in the Netherlands (in English, or Dutch).
Most of the concerts are on 3 different venues spread over the center of Utrecht.
I'm going to spend a lot of time with alexilian (who is also going).
We're probably going to see (in chronological order)
Friday:
- Omnia
- Clan of Xymox (or maybe Faderhead, which is on at the same time in a different venue)
- VNV Nation (YEEEHAAA!)
Saturday:
- Reaper Changed my mind and went to see "Prey"
- The Wounded or Absurd Minds (btw was quite good! alexilian bought their CD)
- Moonspell Since this actually partially coincided with Diorama, and we wanted to have dinner in a relaxed way, we decided to skip this)
- Diorama
- Of the Wand and the Moon Diorama took a little longer, and the venue for this was allegedly full anyway
- Grendel
- Welle:Erdball This was very very fun to see!
- Combichrist (maybe) We were dead tired and decided to skip this
Sunday:
We haven't decided yet, but it will probably feature
- Frontline Assembly
Frontline Assembly was very cool and also very very loud! We decided to see Stromkern as well (which was on before FLA with a 60 minute break in between). In the break we had a drink and walked around a bit outside (and got new money, because ... see below)
We also visited the "Gothic Market" and bought some stuff. alexilian bought a net shirt, a dragon-shaped pendant and set of earrings in the shape of a spiderweb. I bought 4 new rings (for my right hand, since I only had enough rings for my left hand), a sleaveless t-shirt with a stylized spider on the front and a velour purple shirt (that lacked buttons on its right sleave, so I got a 10 euro discount on that). So now we were quite broke (fortuntately we had some time left later, see above).
So, this weekend's harvest for me (apart from the jewelry and clothes already mentioned above)
- a t-shirt that says "Prey"
- a Frontline Assembly hoody
- 4 Diorama CD's
- 1 Prey CD
- 1 Omnia CD
