By meeting Taemin and his friends, is he able to do his mission or is it going to get worst?(sorry, i don't know how to summary my story...T.T)
A/N: So! Here is the real Chapter 6! Sorry it took so long. I'm always busy here in the house so I didn't finnished it immediately..Now, I have another problem, start next week, I'll be babysiting my cousin and I'll be staying there from sundays to thursday afternoon and i'll be home at on thursday to saturday afternoon. It's not that I'll be busy, it's because there is no internet connection there so my posting schedules will be on my day offs. I hope you guys understand...anyway, enjoy Chapter 6!^.^v
Chapter 6
Broken Promises
“Key, are you a girl? Because you look like one.” a 4year old kid named Jonghyun asked Key whose sitting beside him in a small table inside their classroom. The both of them are coloring a piece of paper with pictures of plant on it. They are actually in the middle of their Science activity when Jonghyun decided to ask the question he always asks Key.
“Jonghyun, are you a dinosaur? Because you look like one.”
“No I’m not! But seriously, are you?”
“Of course I’m not, I’m a boy! Can't you see? How did I look like a girl?”
“Because you’re beautiful, you and Taemin.”
“Whatever. I’m a boy not a girl. And please, stop asking that question. This will be the last time I’ll answer that question ever again.”
“Maybe you’re a girl disguising as a boy.”
“And maybe you’re a dinosaur disguising as a boy.”
“Kim Jonghyun, Kim Kibum, did you finished your activities?”

Jonghyun woke up with a big grin on his face. He had a nice sleep and dream. He stretched his arm out to the nightstand to pick his phone; he looked at the time and it’ still 6:45 am. He smirked and turned around to cuddle his beloved best friend, but the smirk on his face fade away and a frown takes place. Key's not there anymore.
"I guess I'll just have to wait for him to wake me up." He said as he cuddled Key's pillow instead. He closed again his eyes and went back to dreamland.

Key woke up 30 minutes than he supposed to. He tried to sleep again, but he can't. So, he stood up and went to the bathroom to do his morning routine. After, he goes down and went directly to the kitchen and starts to prepare breakfast. He opened his refrigerator and search for a possible breakfast. He takes note to drag Jonghyun for grocery later. Well, there's still left over rice from last night that he can make as fried rice. He also took out 2 pcs. of eggs and bacon. He also made a fresh orange juice for the both of them. After preparing the breakfast, Key went upstairs to wake Jonghyun up. Key sat on the bed and shake Jonghyun's sleeping body. He shakes and shakes Jonghyun but the dinoboy just groan and turn around to the other side, giving Key his back. Key got annoyed when his DinoJjong is not showing any sign of wanting to get up. Key then got up and went in the bathroom and took out his weapon.
"Kim Jonghyun, did you forgot the reason why you don't want to sleep here in my house when it's school days?" Key said as he came out of the bathroom. Jonghyun suddenly shot his eyes open and looked at the direction of the bathroom. There he found Key walking near him with a water spray on his right hand. Jonghyun immediately stand up and ran inside the bathroom. Key smirked and shouts,
"If you want to have a warm breakfast, you better hurry up and go down."
"You’re such a mom Key! You're even worse than my mom." Jonghyun shouts back. Key just rolled his eyes and left.
5 minutes later and Jonghyun went down the stairs and joined Key in the dining table. Once Jonghyun sat down, they start to eat their breakfast. They were silent for awhile, not in awkward one but in a comfortable one. Key remembered about telling Jonghyun of his plan of dragging Jonghyun to the grocery with him but, he hesitated to tell him because maybe Jonghyun will have a date again with his girlfriend. These days, Jonghyun always going out with his girlfriend and it annoys him too much. Just by thinking about the word girlfriend, Key's mood starts to doom.
'Why don't I just accept the fact that Jonghyun have a girlfriend and get over it?' he said to himself. Jonghyun looked at Key, and he saw a frown in his face.
"Key, are ok? What's wrong?" Jonghyun stretched his hand to hold the latter's. Key flinched a little at the sudden touch and just shrugged. Key drinks his juice and said,
"Jjong, do you have plans for today after school?” Key asked.
“Beside from afternoon practice, I’ll be available. Wae yo?”
“Then, can you come with me later after school to the grocery? I have to buy food; I'll be out of stock soon. And maybe we can go out to bond. It’s been awhile since we go out that the only two of us."
“Sure, what time?”
“5:30”
“You don’t have dance club?”
“I do, but I don’t have School Body meeting today.”
“Oh,”
“You don’t have a date with Yuri today?”
“I don’t have anything today except for the practice so I’m totally free today for you, baby.” Jonghyun said and winked at Key. Key rolled his eyes and pretends to vomit but deep inside his head, he is celebrating throwing confetti’s and dancing gee.
“Don’t flirt with me Mr. Dinoboy.”
“I’m not.”
“Ok, are you sure? I mean maybe you’ll just suddenly ditch me.”
“I’m sure. I didn’t tell her anything about seeing each other today. Besides, I’ll never ditch you for her. I promise that so you don’t have to worry.”
“Okay, you said so. 5:30 don’t forget.”
“Okay. Wait for me in your dance studio. If ever that I’ll be late, just go to music room. Arasso?”
“Arasso.” Key said smiling.
They finished their breakfast while talking about random things and stuffs. After, Jonghyun went home and prepare his self for today, and so Key.

Today morning is the best morning for Onew. The moment he open his eyes, a beautiful face greeted him.
"Good morning hyung! Did you sleep well?" Onew smiled like an idiot and nodded.
"Good morning too, Taemin ah! Did you also sleep well?" this time, its Taemin’s turn to nod.
"I cooked breakfast for us. I also prepare lunch for us for school, as an apology." Taemin said and pouted at the memory of Onew's sudden burst last night. Onew then mentally slapped his face when he remembered that he shouted at Taemin because of his jealousy over Minho. Onew felt guilty, at what he'd done. He didn't mean it actually, he just lost his temper. He sat on the bed and pulled Taemin onto his lap, and hugged the slim frame in front of him from behind.
"Taemin, I'm the one who supposed to say sorry. I'm so sorry if I acted that way yesterday. I acted childish. I should've done that."
"No, you we-"
"Stop Taemin-ah! No buts! It's my fault okay?" Onew cut him. Taemin just nodded and smiled. He feels relieved because his hyung is not mad at him. Though, Onew never really gave him cold shoulders. It's just because, he feels alright and the awkwardness is gone. Taemin stands up and face Onew. Onew on the other hand felt suddenly empty by the sudden loss of contact. Even though disappointment is written all over his face, he still tried to cover it by his smile. He looked up the younger one like a kid ready to listen to his mom.
"Hyung,"
"Yes, Taeminie?"
"Let's go and eat, or else the breakfast will be cold."

The students are very noisy, busy talking and joking with their friends. But the loud noises that the students made, died when their Literature teacher comes in. Carrying his big black notebook with an ‘Attendance’ written on it, he leaned back on the table in front and open the big notebook, and starts to call his students names. After a while, the teacher spoke,
“I will now give you your project for this semester in Literature. This time, your project will not be by individual but by partners.” Then the teacher showed his students a red apple jar and said,
“This jar contains colored papers.” The teacher started. “Each colored papers, has a written syllables of a word on it that can complete a word. For example,” the teacher paused and took a piece of green paper from his notebook and showed it to his class. “This piece of paper has a syllable “Li” on it. Now, am I going to find my partner by searching the other half or the continuation of this syllable, with the same color, like this,” The teacher took another piece of green paper. “This green paper has a syllable “Fe” written on it, so this is the other half of the first paper. Now, how am I sure that this is really the other half of my paper. As can you see below the syllables, there are words written and these words are the hints. By reading the hint’s you can guess your magic word. Don’t worry both papers will have the same hints so there will be no difficulties in searching for your partners. So class, did you get my instructions?” the students nods and said a soft ‘yes’. (I hope you got it too..T.T)
“Ugh, he’s so complicated.” Jonghyun sigh while Key nod in agreeing to Jonghyun’s statement.
“I hate random picking.” Onew said.
“Why? It’s fun. You’ll have different partners. You’ll get to know new sides of our classmates.” Taemin chirped smilingly.
“Next, Choi Minho.” The teacher called Minho’s name. Minho stands up and walk to his teacher picked a pink paper from the jar.
“Open the paper when you’ll be in your seat.” His teacher said. He nodded and went back to his seat. Once he sat down, Taemin told him to open the paper and so he did. He got a “Lo” syllable.
“Oh! What’s your hint?” Taemin asked. Minho read his hint,
“A feeling of strong attachment induced by that which delights or commands admiration; preeminent kindness or devotion to another; affection; tenderness;” they both looked at each other. Taemin pouted when he didn’t get the answer. Minho chuckled and pinched Taemin’s cheeks.
“The word is “Love” Taemin-ah.”
“How could you be so sure?”
“Because what’s written here is what you feel when you are in love or when you love someone.”
“Oh yeah, you already fell in love.” Taemin said with a little disappointment in his voice. He pouted when he noticed that he just felt disappointed and blushed. He turns around and covered his cheeks by his palms so no one will see his blushing cheeks.
“Next are Kim Jonghyun and Kim Kibum.” The teacher called. Jonghyun and Key stand up and walk towards their teacher.
“I wish we’ll have the same paper.” Jonghyun whispered to Key. Key wished it too in the bottom of his heart.
Jonghyun picked first then Key. The both of them take their seats. Jonghyun immediately turn to Key and asked what colored paper Key got. Key opened his hand and showed Jonghyun what he got. Key got a blue paper with a syllables “Accep” written on it. Jonghyun frowned and showed Key what he got. He got a red paper with a “Cou” written on it.
“Well, it’s just one of our unlucky days Jjong.” Key said as he read his hint. “receiving what is offered, approval? I guess the word is “Acceptance”? What do you think?” Key tilted his head then showed Jonghyun the piece of paper. Jonghyun took the paper and examine it.
“Let me see. Well, based on what’s written here, “Accep” and the meaning, it is definitely acceptance.” Jonghyun replied and returned the paper to Key. Key took the paper and ask Jonghyun his.
“Mine, the syllable is “Cou”. And the hints are, without fear, valor boldness resolution.”
“I guess this is Courage.” Key said and he looked at Jonghyun. “Jjong, are you a coward? What are afraid of?”
“Uh, I don’t know. To lose my friends, I guess.” Jonghyun replied.
“How about you? What was a thing that you can’t accept?”
‘Your relationship with Yuri’ Key said to his mind. Key faced the board and sighed.
“I guess the fact that I can’t accept is…I don’t know. There is too much things that I don’t know which.”
The both of them just sighed and looked at the front. Later on, they heard their teacher call another name.
“Lee Jinki, Lee Taemin.”
Onew and Taemin stand up and pick their luck. Taemin’s face lightened when he saw the color of paper he picked. It was color pink. He rushed to his seat and excitedly opened his paper.
“What did you got Taeminie?” Key asked.
“I got a pink paper with “Ve” syllable.” Taemin said cheerfully. “I guess I already found my partner.” He continued. The trio looked at him confusedly. “My partner is Minho hyung.” He smiled. Again there comes Onew’s annoyance. Jonghyun nudge Onew’s arm and asked him,
“What you got?” Onew didn’t reply but showed Jonghyun his paper. It’s a red paper with a “Rage” written on it.
“Oh! Onew-ya, congratulations, we’re partners!” Jonghyun grinned Onew just rolled his eyes and sighed but still put up his brightest smile.
“I guess every one of you got picked, and maybe already found your partners. Now, for those who didn’t have their partners yet, you can now search for your partners. Let’s start, this side. Stand up one by one and quietly to find your partner.”
So, the search project started. Key looked up when he saw someone standing in front of him,
“K-Key-ssi, may I see what you picked?” the guy said shyly. Key smiled and replied,
“Sure Dongwoon-ssi.” Key said giving Dongwoon his piece of paper. Jonghyun on the other side is glaring at Dongwoon.
“So, is it the same or what?” Key asked Dongwoon. Dongwoon smiled and said,
“Key-ssi, you are my partner.”
“Really?”
“Yeah,” Dongwoon scratch the back of his head and blushed. Key noticed it but just preferred to ignore it.
“Then I guess I’m lucky. I don’t have to search for my partner.” Key said and smiled. Dongwoon feels like melting at Key’s smile. When he feels like he’s blushing again, he bowed to Key and sat down to his place. Jonghyun suddenly leaned to Key and whispered,
“I don’t like Dongwoon, so if I were you, I’ll not hang out with him often.” Key raised an eyebrow at Jonghyun. ‘What the heck is wrong with him?’ Key thought.
“Why? What’s wrong with Dongwoon? He’s a good guy. I like him. I guess we will get along well. Besides, what you’re asking is impossible. He is my partner, remember?” Key said sarcastically. Jonghyun supposed to say something but he was cut off by their teacher.
“The words you picked will be the subject of your project. Before the end of your semester, is the deadline of your project and I expect a presentation from each groups. Here are the forms and instruction on how you are going to do your projects.” The teacher says and starts to give away the photocopies. After giving away the papers, the break time bell rang and the teacher went out.

“Key and Taemin’s dance practice finished later than they thought. But that’s not what Key was frowning about. It’s now quarter to 6pm and until now Jonghyun is not yet there.
“He’s late again.” Key murmured as he picked up his bag from the bench.
“You have a date with Jonghyun hyung Key?” Key jumped a little because of Taemin’s sudden appearance.
“Omo! Yah! Taemin-ah! Are you planning to kill me?” Key said while clutching to his shirt on his chest and sighed.
“Hehe! No of course not. Anyway, what’s wrong?”
“Nothing”
Taemin cupped Key’s face and moved it left and right examining Key’s face.
“Really? Your face didn’t say so.”
“Fine” Key sighed and removed Taemin’s hands from his face. “Jonghyun, he’s late.”
“Oh, what’s new to that? He’s always late. Why do you have a date?”
“Shut up Taemin, it’s not a date. Well, kind of. But no! It’s just called bonding okay?”
“Yeah right, bonding” Taemin replied with sarcasm in his voice. “Let’s see Key’s definition of “bonding”.” Taemin said emphasizing the word bonding. Key crossed his arms to his chest and rolled his eyes and glared at Taemin. Taemin ignored Key’s death glare and continued.
“Bonding, it is an activity where going out and doing everything is only done by two person. When they are going out they are holding hands. When one person is doing something, the other one is hugging the other one and they become so loveydovey etc etc.”
“You! Aish! Come on just come with me to search for our dinoJjong.” Key said taking his things form the bench and walk to the door.
“’Our’ dinoJjong or ‘Your’ dinoJjong?” Taemin said walking behind Key. Key just laughed and they start to looked for Jonghyun.
While walking, Key is trying to call Jonghyun on his phone but Jonghyun is not answering. He even sends him voice messages and text messages but Jonghyun didn’t reply. He starts get worried. Yeah, Jonghyun is always late but he never failed to reply or answer Key’s messages or calls.
Key and Taemin reached the Music Club Room but they didn’t find anyone inside. Key starts to become nervous. They asked everyone they meet to ask for Jonghyun but everyone says they didn’t find him. They also searched to the possible places that Jonghyun might have been but he’s really not there.
“Maybe he went home.” Taemin said trying to calm Key.
“But why isn’t he answering my calls?”
“Maybe he falls asleep.”
“But he will still answer my calls.”
“Key, relax okay. Maybe he misplaced his phone. Don’t be a paranoid. Relax. If ever there’s something bad happened to him they will call us. So please just calm yourself. Let’s just go home maybe he’s home too now.”
Key tried to think positive and thanks to that he relaxed a little bit. On their way home, Key’s phone vibrates and a sigh of relief escaped his mouth when he found out that it was Jonghyun who called him. He answered it immediately.
“Yah! Jonghyun-ah! Are you okay? Where are you? I am worried sick about you do you know that? You didn’t answer my-”
“Key!” Jonghyun cut him.
“I’m fine. I’m okay. Don’t worry about me.” Jonghyun replied.
“Just where are you?”
“I’m so sorry Key. There’s an emergency that I had to attend so sorry I didn’t come and tell you about it.”
“What emergency?”
“I’ll tell you when I got home, so don’t worry ok?”
“Okay.”
“I’m really sorry. Bye.”
“Bye.”
Key put his phone back in his pocket and tells Taemin that he doesn’t feel like going home. Taemin suggest going to the park to smell some fresh air and so Key can relax. They reached at the park after some long walk. Taemin pulled Key like a kid when he saw an ice cream stall. The both of them ate ice cream and walked. They saw a bench near the lake and they sat there for a while looking at the stars.
“Taeminie, I’ll ask you something but, I want you to be honest okay?”
“Sure hyung. What is it?”
“Do you like Minho?”
“Of course I like him.”
“You know that by what I mean ‘like him’ is as in like, like him. Like love him, right?”
“Oh! Hyung! Why are you like that? He’s a guy so how I’ll be in love with him?”
“Yeah right. You look like a girl high school student every time he’s coming or talking to you. You are smiling like an idiot and he’s the only topic every time we are talking. Just admit it Taem.”
Taemin blushed and pout at what he said. Key pinched his cheeks and gives him a hug.
“Don’t worry Taeminie, Key hyung is always here for you.”
“Hyung, I told I am not in love with him. So please let go. I can’t breathe!” Taemin replied struggling to Key’s hug.
“Ayoo~ But Taeminie, if ever he’ll try to confess to you, never push him away okay? And if you think you are sure to what you feel; don’t hesitate to tell him okay?”
“Hyung, please. Why didn’t you say that to yourself before? Now what are you going to do?”
“I don’t know Taeminie,” Key said and stands up and turns to face Taemin. He put both his hands on his pocket and smiled at Taemin.
“Maybe learn to accept everything and move on?”
“That’s not or my hyung?” Taemin said more of a question and stand up to hug Key. They both took their things and decided to go home.
Key doesn’t know why but he felt like he should stop from walking and look at his left side. His eyes are glued at a familiar figure that’s walking with someone. A girl to be exact, the place is kind of dark so he cannot see nicely. But as the figures come closer, he realized that the girl was Yuri and the guy who is holding her hands was Jonghyun. They didn’t notice Key yet, because if they did they will not kiss lips to lips right? Key felt like all the water in the lake poured at him. Like a thousand soldiers shot his heart with arrows. It hurt so much that he didn’t know that tears are pouring down his face endlessly. Taemin suddenly turn Key around and pulled him to take him home.

They reached home now and Key still didn’t recover from what just happened. He didn’t even bother to go upstairs to change. The incident made him think about something. Like realization. His train of thoughts was cut by Taemin.
“Hyung, here. This will help.” Taemin said giving Key a cup of Tea. He sat down beside Key. He looked at his hyung’s teary eyes and hold Key’s hands.
“Hyung, if you want to cry, my shoulder is empty you know. It’s reserved only for you.” Taemin said and wiggled his shoulder a little. Key wiped his eyes and said that he’s fine.
“Hyung are you kidding me? You didn’t cry your heart out yet and you’re okay? You know that it’s not okay.”
Key just stared at Taemin, while Taemin opened his arms wide waiting for Key to hug him.
“I love you Key umma! Come, and give your son a hug.” Taemin said smiling. It’s like on a cue, Key threw his body to Taemin and cried. Taemin rubs Key’s back and whispered calming words to him and rock him to calm him down. After sometime, Key starts to fall asleep. Since Taemin cannot carry Key upstairs to his room, he just lay him down on the sofa and covers him with blanket. He called his mom to tell her that he’ll be staying with Key tonight to accompany Key. Later on, Taemin sighed and looked at the poor best friend of his. He looked up the ceiling and thought about what Key said to him back then and he decided to follow Key’s advice if ever. After a while, it’s his turn to fall asleep.

“Key, I promise you that I will never make you cry and that I will protect you always. I will never leave your side. You are always the first for me, well except for my parents. But still, I’ll never leave you and I will never exchange you to anyone. You will be my one and only. I promise that.”
The 8 year old kid named Key stopped crying and looked at Jonghyun. He wiped away his tears and looked at the 8 years old Jonghyun and said,
“Promise?”
“Promise. Pinky promise.” Jonghyun pull out his pinky finger and waiting for Key to seal it. Key looked at the pinky finger in front of his face and looked at Jonghyun.
“How can you keep that promise?” Jonghyun tilted his head and asked,
“What do you mean?”
“I mean, when we will grow up, we will have wives and our own families. How you will still be by my side?”
“Just believe me, believe my words. I’ll never leave you.”

"You’re such a mom Key! You're even worse than my mom." Jonghyun shouts back. Key just rolled his eyes and left.
5 minutes later and Jonghyun went down the stairs and joined Key in the dining table. Once Jonghyun sat down, they start to eat their breakfast. They were silent for awhile, not in awkward one but in a comfortable one. Key remembered about telling Jonghyun of his plan of dragging Jonghyun to the grocery with him but, he hesitated to tell him because maybe Jonghyun will have a date again with his girlfriend. These days, Jonghyun always going out with his girlfriend and it annoys him too much. Just by thinking about the word girlfriend, Key's mood starts to doom.
'Why don't I just accept the fact that Jonghyun have a girlfriend and get over it?' he said to himself. Jonghyun looked at Key, and he saw a frown in his face.
"Key, are ok? What's wrong?" Jonghyun stretched his hand to hold the latter's. Key flinched a little at the sudden touch and just shrugged. Key drinks his juice and said,
"Jjong, do you have plans for today after school?” Key asked.
“Beside from afternoon practice, I’ll be available. Wae yo?”
“Then, can you come with me later after school to the grocery? I have to buy food; I'll be out of stock soon. And maybe we can go out to bond. It’s been awhile since we go out that the only two of us."
“Sure, what time?”
“5:30”
“You don’t have dance club?”
“I do, but I don’t have School Body meeting today.”
“Oh,”
“You don’t have a date with Yuri today?”
“I don’t have anything today except for the practice so I’m totally free today for you, baby.” Jonghyun said and winked at Key. Key rolled his eyes and pretends to vomit but deep inside his head, he is celebrating throwing confetti’s and dancing gee.
“Don’t flirt with me Mr. Dinoboy.”
“I’m not.”
“Ok, are you sure? I mean maybe you’ll just suddenly ditch me.”
“I’m sure. I didn’t tell her anything about seeing each other today. Besides, I’ll never ditch you for her. I promise that so you don’t have to worry.”
“Okay, you said so. 5:30 don’t forget.”
“Okay. Wait for me in your dance studio. If ever that I’ll be late, just go to music room. Arasso?”
“Arasso.” Key said smiling.
They finished their breakfast while talking about random things and stuffs. After, Jonghyun went home and prepare his self for today, and so Key.

Today morning is the best morning for Onew. The moment he open his eyes, a beautiful face greeted him.
"Good morning hyung! Did you sleep well?" Onew smiled like an idiot and nodded.
"Good morning too, Taemin ah! Did you also sleep well?" this time, its Taemin’s turn to nod.
"I cooked breakfast for us. I also prepare lunch for us for school, as an apology." Taemin said and pouted at the memory of Onew's sudden burst last night. Onew then mentally slapped his face when he remembered that he shouted at Taemin because of his jealousy over Minho. Onew felt guilty, at what he'd done. He didn't mean it actually, he just lost his temper. He sat on the bed and pulled Taemin onto his lap, and hugged the slim frame in front of him from behind.
"Taemin, I'm the one who supposed to say sorry. I'm so sorry if I acted that way yesterday. I acted childish. I should've done that."
"No, you we-"
"Stop Taemin-ah! No buts! It's my fault okay?" Onew cut him. Taemin just nodded and smiled. He feels relieved because his hyung is not mad at him. Though, Onew never really gave him cold shoulders. It's just because, he feels alright and the awkwardness is gone. Taemin stands up and face Onew. Onew on the other hand felt suddenly empty by the sudden loss of contact. Even though disappointment is written all over his face, he still tried to cover it by his smile. He looked up the younger one like a kid ready to listen to his mom.
"Hyung,"
"Yes, Taeminie?"
"Let's go and eat, or else the breakfast will be cold."

The students are very noisy, busy talking and joking with their friends. But the loud noises that the students made, died when their Literature teacher comes in. Carrying his big black notebook with an ‘Attendance’ written on it, he leaned back on the table in front and open the big notebook, and starts to call his students names. After a while, the teacher spoke,
“I will now give you your project for this semester in Literature. This time, your project will not be by individual but by partners.” Then the teacher showed his students a red apple jar and said,
“This jar contains colored papers.” The teacher started. “Each colored papers, has a written syllables of a word on it that can complete a word. For example,” the teacher paused and took a piece of green paper from his notebook and showed it to his class. “This piece of paper has a syllable “Li” on it. Now, am I going to find my partner by searching the other half or the continuation of this syllable, with the same color, like this,” The teacher took another piece of green paper. “This green paper has a syllable “Fe” written on it, so this is the other half of the first paper. Now, how am I sure that this is really the other half of my paper. As can you see below the syllables, there are words written and these words are the hints. By reading the hint’s you can guess your magic word. Don’t worry both papers will have the same hints so there will be no difficulties in searching for your partners. So class, did you get my instructions?” the students nods and said a soft ‘yes’. (I hope you got it too..T.T)
“Ugh, he’s so complicated.” Jonghyun sigh while Key nod in agreeing to Jonghyun’s statement.
“I hate random picking.” Onew said.
“Why? It’s fun. You’ll have different partners. You’ll get to know new sides of our classmates.” Taemin chirped smilingly.
“Next, Choi Minho.” The teacher called Minho’s name. Minho stands up and walk to his teacher picked a pink paper from the jar.
“Open the paper when you’ll be in your seat.” His teacher said. He nodded and went back to his seat. Once he sat down, Taemin told him to open the paper and so he did. He got a “Lo” syllable.
“Oh! What’s your hint?” Taemin asked. Minho read his hint,
“A feeling of strong attachment induced by that which delights or commands admiration; preeminent kindness or devotion to another; affection; tenderness;” they both looked at each other. Taemin pouted when he didn’t get the answer. Minho chuckled and pinched Taemin’s cheeks.
“The word is “Love” Taemin-ah.”
“How could you be so sure?”
“Because what’s written here is what you feel when you are in love or when you love someone.”
“Oh yeah, you already fell in love.” Taemin said with a little disappointment in his voice. He pouted when he noticed that he just felt disappointed and blushed. He turns around and covered his cheeks by his palms so no one will see his blushing cheeks.
“Next are Kim Jonghyun and Kim Kibum.” The teacher called. Jonghyun and Key stand up and walk towards their teacher.
“I wish we’ll have the same paper.” Jonghyun whispered to Key. Key wished it too in the bottom of his heart.
Jonghyun picked first then Key. The both of them take their seats. Jonghyun immediately turn to Key and asked what colored paper Key got. Key opened his hand and showed Jonghyun what he got. Key got a blue paper with a syllables “Accep” written on it. Jonghyun frowned and showed Key what he got. He got a red paper with a “Cou” written on it.
“Well, it’s just one of our unlucky days Jjong.” Key said as he read his hint. “receiving what is offered, approval? I guess the word is “Acceptance”? What do you think?” Key tilted his head then showed Jonghyun the piece of paper. Jonghyun took the paper and examine it.
“Let me see. Well, based on what’s written here, “Accep” and the meaning, it is definitely acceptance.” Jonghyun replied and returned the paper to Key. Key took the paper and ask Jonghyun his.
“Mine, the syllable is “Cou”. And the hints are, without fear, valor boldness resolution.”
“I guess this is Courage.” Key said and he looked at Jonghyun. “Jjong, are you a coward? What are afraid of?”
“Uh, I don’t know. To lose my friends, I guess.” Jonghyun replied.
“How about you? What was a thing that you can’t accept?”
‘Your relationship with Yuri’ Key said to his mind. Key faced the board and sighed.
“I guess the fact that I can’t accept is…I don’t know. There is too much things that I don’t know which.”
The both of them just sighed and looked at the front. Later on, they heard their teacher call another name.
“Lee Jinki, Lee Taemin.”
Onew and Taemin stand up and pick their luck. Taemin’s face lightened when he saw the color of paper he picked. It was color pink. He rushed to his seat and excitedly opened his paper.
“What did you got Taeminie?” Key asked.
“I got a pink paper with “Ve” syllable.” Taemin said cheerfully. “I guess I already found my partner.” He continued. The trio looked at him confusedly. “My partner is Minho hyung.” He smiled. Again there comes Onew’s annoyance. Jonghyun nudge Onew’s arm and asked him,
“What you got?” Onew didn’t reply but showed Jonghyun his paper. It’s a red paper with a “Rage” written on it.
“Oh! Onew-ya, congratulations, we’re partners!” Jonghyun grinned Onew just rolled his eyes and sighed but still put up his brightest smile.
“I guess every one of you got picked, and maybe already found your partners. Now, for those who didn’t have their partners yet, you can now search for your partners. Let’s start, this side. Stand up one by one and quietly to find your partner.”
So, the search project started. Key looked up when he saw someone standing in front of him,
“K-Key-ssi, may I see what you picked?” the guy said shyly. Key smiled and replied,
“Sure Dongwoon-ssi.” Key said giving Dongwoon his piece of paper. Jonghyun on the other side is glaring at Dongwoon.
“So, is it the same or what?” Key asked Dongwoon. Dongwoon smiled and said,
“Key-ssi, you are my partner.”
“Really?”
“Yeah,” Dongwoon scratch the back of his head and blushed. Key noticed it but just preferred to ignore it.
“Then I guess I’m lucky. I don’t have to search for my partner.” Key said and smiled. Dongwoon feels like melting at Key’s smile. When he feels like he’s blushing again, he bowed to Key and sat down to his place. Jonghyun suddenly leaned to Key and whispered,
“I don’t like Dongwoon, so if I were you, I’ll not hang out with him often.” Key raised an eyebrow at Jonghyun. ‘What the heck is wrong with him?’ Key thought.
“Why? What’s wrong with Dongwoon? He’s a good guy. I like him. I guess we will get along well. Besides, what you’re asking is impossible. He is my partner, remember?” Key said sarcastically. Jonghyun supposed to say something but he was cut off by their teacher.
“The words you picked will be the subject of your project. Before the end of your semester, is the deadline of your project and I expect a presentation from each groups. Here are the forms and instruction on how you are going to do your projects.” The teacher says and starts to give away the photocopies. After giving away the papers, the break time bell rang and the teacher went out.

“Key and Taemin’s dance practice finished later than they thought. But that’s not what Key was frowning about. It’s now quarter to 6pm and until now Jonghyun is not yet there.
“He’s late again.” Key murmured as he picked up his bag from the bench.
“You have a date with Jonghyun hyung Key?” Key jumped a little because of Taemin’s sudden appearance.
“Omo! Yah! Taemin-ah! Are you planning to kill me?” Key said while clutching to his shirt on his chest and sighed.
“Hehe! No of course not. Anyway, what’s wrong?”
“Nothing”
Taemin cupped Key’s face and moved it left and right examining Key’s face.
“Really? Your face didn’t say so.”
“Fine” Key sighed and removed Taemin’s hands from his face. “Jonghyun, he’s late.”
“Oh, what’s new to that? He’s always late. Why do you have a date?”
“Shut up Taemin, it’s not a date. Well, kind of. But no! It’s just called bonding okay?”
“Yeah right, bonding” Taemin replied with sarcasm in his voice. “Let’s see Key’s definition of “bonding”.” Taemin said emphasizing the word bonding. Key crossed his arms to his chest and rolled his eyes and glared at Taemin. Taemin ignored Key’s death glare and continued.
“Bonding, it is an activity where going out and doing everything is only done by two person. When they are going out they are holding hands. When one person is doing something, the other one is hugging the other one and they become so loveydovey etc etc.”
“You! Aish! Come on just come with me to search for our dinoJjong.” Key said taking his things form the bench and walk to the door.
“’Our’ dinoJjong or ‘Your’ dinoJjong?” Taemin said walking behind Key. Key just laughed and they start to looked for Jonghyun.
While walking, Key is trying to call Jonghyun on his phone but Jonghyun is not answering. He even sends him voice messages and text messages but Jonghyun didn’t reply. He starts get worried. Yeah, Jonghyun is always late but he never failed to reply or answer Key’s messages or calls.
Key and Taemin reached the Music Club Room but they didn’t find anyone inside. Key starts to become nervous. They asked everyone they meet to ask for Jonghyun but everyone says they didn’t find him. They also searched to the possible places that Jonghyun might have been but he’s really not there.
“Maybe he went home.” Taemin said trying to calm Key.
“But why isn’t he answering my calls?”
“Maybe he falls asleep.”
“But he will still answer my calls.”
“Key, relax okay. Maybe he misplaced his phone. Don’t be a paranoid. Relax. If ever there’s something bad happened to him they will call us. So please just calm yourself. Let’s just go home maybe he’s home too now.”
Key tried to think positive and thanks to that he relaxed a little bit. On their way home, Key’s phone vibrates and a sigh of relief escaped his mouth when he found out that it was Jonghyun who called him. He answered it immediately.
“Yah! Jonghyun-ah! Are you okay? Where are you? I am worried sick about you do you know that? You didn’t answer my-”
“Key!” Jonghyun cut him.
“I’m fine. I’m okay. Don’t worry about me.” Jonghyun replied.
“Just where are you?”
“I’m so sorry Key. There’s an emergency that I had to attend so sorry I didn’t come and tell you about it.”
“What emergency?”
“I’ll tell you when I got home, so don’t worry ok?”
“Okay.”
“I’m really sorry. Bye.”
“Bye.”
Key put his phone back in his pocket and tells Taemin that he doesn’t feel like going home. Taemin suggest going to the park to smell some fresh air and so Key can relax. They reached at the park after some long walk. Taemin pulled Key like a kid when he saw an ice cream stall. The both of them ate ice cream and walked. They saw a bench near the lake and they sat there for a while looking at the stars.
“Taeminie, I’ll ask you something but, I want you to be honest okay?”
“Sure hyung. What is it?”
“Do you like Minho?”
“Of course I like him.”
“You know that by what I mean ‘like him’ is as in like, like him. Like love him, right?”
“Oh! Hyung! Why are you like that? He’s a guy so how I’ll be in love with him?”
“Yeah right. You look like a girl high school student every time he’s coming or talking to you. You are smiling like an idiot and he’s the only topic every time we are talking. Just admit it Taem.”
Taemin blushed and pout at what he said. Key pinched his cheeks and gives him a hug.
“Don’t worry Taeminie, Key hyung is always here for you.”
“Hyung, I told I am not in love with him. So please let go. I can’t breathe!” Taemin replied struggling to Key’s hug.
“Ayoo~ But Taeminie, if ever he’ll try to confess to you, never push him away okay? And if you think you are sure to what you feel; don’t hesitate to tell him okay?”
“Hyung, please. Why didn’t you say that to yourself before? Now what are you going to do?”
“I don’t know Taeminie,” Key said and stands up and turns to face Taemin. He put both his hands on his pocket and smiled at Taemin.
“Maybe learn to accept everything and move on?”
“That’s not or my hyung?” Taemin said more of a question and stand up to hug Key. They both took their things and decided to go home.
Key doesn’t know why but he felt like he should stop from walking and look at his left side. His eyes are glued at a familiar figure that’s walking with someone. A girl to be exact, the place is kind of dark so he cannot see nicely. But as the figures come closer, he realized that the girl was Yuri and the guy who is holding her hands was Jonghyun. They didn’t notice Key yet, because if they did they will not kiss lips to lips right? Key felt like all the water in the lake poured at him. Like a thousand soldiers shot his heart with arrows. It hurt so much that he didn’t know that tears are pouring down his face endlessly. Taemin suddenly turn Key around and pulled him to take him home.

They reached home now and Key still didn’t recover from what just happened. He didn’t even bother to go upstairs to change. The incident made him think about something. Like realization. His train of thoughts was cut by Taemin.
“Hyung, here. This will help.” Taemin said giving Key a cup of Tea. He sat down beside Key. He looked at his hyung’s teary eyes and hold Key’s hands.
“Hyung, if you want to cry, my shoulder is empty you know. It’s reserved only for you.” Taemin said and wiggled his shoulder a little. Key wiped his eyes and said that he’s fine.
“Hyung are you kidding me? You didn’t cry your heart out yet and you’re okay? You know that it’s not okay.”
Key just stared at Taemin, while Taemin opened his arms wide waiting for Key to hug him.
“I love you Key umma! Come, and give your son a hug.” Taemin said smiling. It’s like on a cue, Key threw his body to Taemin and cried. Taemin rubs Key’s back and whispered calming words to him and rock him to calm him down. After sometime, Key starts to fall asleep. Since Taemin cannot carry Key upstairs to his room, he just lay him down on the sofa and covers him with blanket. He called his mom to tell her that he’ll be staying with Key tonight to accompany Key. Later on, Taemin sighed and looked at the poor best friend of his. He looked up the ceiling and thought about what Key said to him back then and he decided to follow Key’s advice if ever. After a while, it’s his turn to fall asleep.

“Key, I promise you that I will never make you cry and that I will protect you always. I will never leave your side. You are always the first for me, well except for my parents. But still, I’ll never leave you and I will never exchange you to anyone. You will be my one and only. I promise that.”
The 8 year old kid named Key stopped crying and looked at Jonghyun. He wiped away his tears and looked at the 8 years old Jonghyun and said,
“Promise?”
“Promise. Pinky promise.” Jonghyun pull out his pinky finger and waiting for Key to seal it. Key looked at the pinky finger in front of his face and looked at Jonghyun.
“How can you keep that promise?” Jonghyun tilted his head and asked,
“What do you mean?”
“I mean, when we will grow up, we will have wives and our own families. How you will still be by my side?”
“Just believe me, believe my words. I’ll never leave you.”
