Has anyone ever had or heard about a lucid nightmare? I had one this morning, it was quite insane.
So i went out drinking last night, had fun, went home and slept. Woke up at 5, played some mahjong for an hour, fucked around for a bit, and went to bed again about 7:30. I could only sleep for an hour, so it wasn't that long a dream, but i sort of drifted off, waking up every 8 minutes or so to check the clock. SO i was in a very light sleep, then I started to dream. I suppose after about 2 events happening in the dream I realized I had conscious control and that it was indeed a lucid dream, and it was INSANELY vivid. I could see pores, skin folds, hair follicles, and can still see them as I type this several hours later. I've had lucid dreams before with varying amounts of clarity, but never like this. I remember everything I did, the weirdest thing of all is that I chose to do fun things, and everything went crazy. Every choice I made went awry, and there were characters that seem to be living characters that I couldn't control. Very strong personalities that would react in some hyper-fast ways. There was one point in my dream where I started to come out and wake up. I remember looking at the clock and then dropping my head back into the pillow, then feeling something jump on my back. Normally there are cats around so it's normal for me. When I remembered I didn't have any cats here, i turned around to see what was on my back and i was in the dream, in my bed, looking at a demon koala. I kicked him off the bed, hopped to the floor and tried to push him out of the door. As I was chasing him around my floor the walls and room began to morph into another blueprint, still a room, but made out of different materials with walls at different places all while I'm trying to shue this demon koala out of my room. So i kick the shit out of him and he barrels through the door and into the living room, which I have come to find is now a giant chicken coup (sp?). I kick him outside my front door, which is basically a chicken wire screen door, and he gets pissed off. He tries to come back in a few times and then calls in some of his animal friends to get revenge. SO an army of birds flies overhead and they all shit on me, i'm talking rainclouds of bird shit falling through my chicken-wire roof and onto my hair, face, dripping off my lips. And even weirder, I actually FEEL all of this. I could feel the pressure on my feet when i kicked the little fuckin koala, the bird shit dropping all over my face, the koala's fur on my fingers when I pushed him away. It was nuts! There were several times where I would pseudo-wake up, look at the clock, and the next second I'm in a new locale. I can see myself in the 3rd person in full-on detail. I can hear my own voice, I can choose what I say, sometimes it would switch to a first-person view as well. I hesitate to say it was like a video game because it was so realistic. The only thing I could compare it to would be a bad trip. There were parts when I thought I was lost in this dream world, and wouldn't ever be coming back. There were several times I didn't know I was dreaming. For the most part I knew I had control in the dream to do whatever I want, so I fought a lot of people, went looking to get laid, and everytime some weird shit happened. People would morph before my eyes, people would sprout hair out of their faces and turn into unrecognizable creatures. Women would appear in provocative poses in door frames only to disappear as I walked through the threshold of the door. There were dirty crime-ridden areas, dark seedy alley-ways, a props storage reminiscent of Alice in Wonderland, and at the very end a Narrator came in over the entire dream, talking about my exploits and implying that the end was coming....either the story was going to stop or I was going to die. I started yelling at him and willing myself awake but couldn't. Then everything started to fade to black as he spoke. Next thing I know I wake up panicked thinking I missed my class and having that "after-trip" feel where I wasn't sure the world really existed and if I was just creating this as well. So needless to say the ride to class this morning was very interesting.
The telling of the dream in this post is more for myself to be able to read what happened than for anyone to analyze for me. I was just interested if anyone else had had a lucid nightmare.
That's it
